One size does not fit all!
I love Merino smartwool products, but this hat is too small. It does not cover my ears. My baseball hat size is 7 5/8, which is big, but not that big. I wish they made a larger size.
Great Beanie!!!
I bought this beanie to knock the chill off while on the trail. It’s not too heavy where you will get hot. It really ventilates well. I don’t however use it on those cold nights on the trail. I use a heavier beanie. This one is perfect to have some ventilation.
Perfect winter layer
I’ve been on the lookout for a very thin merino wool beanie style hat for several years but never found a color I liked. This is perfect for wearing under my ski helmet or under beanies for extra warmth.
Too Small!
This item, #204255, is the 2nd beanie I have purchased from REI. It is too small. The other beanie I purchased is the Smartwool Active Fleece Beanie, Item #1917080001. It is much larger, and fits well.
Favorite for under helmet
I love this lightweight cap. I use these under helmet of all kinds when the chill hits. It’s also great to throw in your pack or pocket if you are out hiking, running etc. I’m often in places where weather turns fast so having an emergency head cover is a must. It’s very warm for its weight and has is easy to clean when you make it back to civilization.
Great lil covering
I really like this little beanie. It is lightweight, silky and stretches over my head. It doesn't tug on my hair like headbands. I forget it's there. It keeps my head the perfect temperature.
Great for running
I shave my head consequently I can feel the material beanies are made of. This is soft and effective
Comfortable and machine washable
Comfortable and machine washable. It doesn’t slide off my head.
Just buy it and stay warm!
This is a great beanie to have stuffed in your pocket this time of year. At 0. 84 ozs it's no bother to carry all the time, and right there when it turns chilly. Being bald as a coot, I wear the two I have around home, and outdoors for walking & running. It's ideal for layering beneath a helmet or balaclava when the mercury really drops. Even given it's lightness the Merino wool provides surprising warmth, a great product.
I love introducing others to the Smartwool product line!!
Introduced my son-in-law to Smartwool skullcaps/Beanies. He's recovered from a battle with cancer he wasn't supposed to survive, is bald, and is running again!!! These caps will be a perfect base layer, worn alone on cool days, or inside in summer air conditioning (he lives in a knit hat). He loves them. I'll be looking at the wool socks for him, next.
