I’m new to trekking poles but am an avid walker and have really enjoyed using these! I am amazed at how they enhance the walking and hiking experience. I’ve used them on paved paths as well as unpaved hikes in the woods. I am really appreciating the extra stability these give me, making me feel much more confident on uneven terrain. On less challenging paths, they simply give me a little support and as I have knee pain this is a good thing! I love the aesthetics in the white color with contrasting cork colored handles. The height takes just seconds to adjust, and can break down small enough to travel with. I place the protective plastic covers back on the tips after use, to keep them in good shape. These have been great and I look forward to trying them out in snowy weather!
I found these Leki trekking poles to be great. I bought these so that I could fit in my luggage which my old ones didn’t. These break down completely and fit with no problems. I love that the handles were molded to my smaller-hands. I didn’t have any issues adjusting these for uphill and downhill on my hikes in the Canadian Rockies. The only thing I wish they came with is a bag to keep them in when I packed them in my luggage. Otherwise, I really like these more than my previous poles.
Use these poles for walking the neighborhood.. adds stability to my 80 year old legs. Looking gorward to using them hiking in the forests this Fall. One downside.. the "cork" handles can feel a little sweaty. Not sure they are real cork. My previous now 30yr old poles.. but still used Lekis.. were more like a foam. My one monopod pole has a springy give to it which I appreciate. Great quality, though, with these new ones, nice and lightweight.
My first set of trekking poles were a last minute low-cost set from Amazon. Needless to say they weren’t ideal so these have been a significant upgrade! I found them to be very sturdy and feel like they will last a long time. I thought they were fairly easy to adjust to my height although they were a little stiff at first. They were lightweight so I didn’t feel like they were too heavy to use hiking or carrying them in my backpack. My favorite feature was the hand grip. My previous set would give me blisters but the cork was comfy and the shape was great for my hands. Overall I’m really impressed and am excited to get more use out of them in the fall.
Absolutely love the Leki poles, I use them every week day to go on my morning walks. Easy to use and great comfort on the hands. Makes walking much easier.
These poles were a gift to my daughter who will be making a trip to Antarctica. I had thoroughly researched trekking poles and had pretty much decided on these, but they contacted REI before making the final decision. As hiker, skier, climber, repeller, and active sportsperson in general, I have trusted the expertise of REI employees for years. I bought from REI because of my long relationship, and knowing that my daughter can get advice from them if necessary. The poles are exactly what she will need for her Antarctic treks, and she is thrilled with them.
If you find yourself in need for trekking poles, you should consider these! I don't always need trekking poles, but they are nice to have as an option. They are lightweight and sturdy and breakdown to a pretty average size. The handles are really comfortable and the hand rests naturally in the grooves. The poles do adjust based on your height and how long you want the poles to be. The lowest segment does seem a bit more stiff to expand but I think that could get better with use. So, not something everyone needs, but if you do, these would be a good option!
I didn't have a lot of experience with trekking poles, but now that I've used the Leki Women's Jannu poles I'm sold on how efficient they are and how stable I feel on the trails. The fact that they fold up so compactly is a real plus for when you're driving to/from a trail. But once you extend them to your proper height, which is extremely easy to do, they feel like a natural extension of my arms rather than an impediment that I had to worry about how to use. The hand grip fits my small hands very comfortably, and the wrist straps are easily adjustable. The poles come with a plastic cover to protect the tip when you're not using them, which is a nice detail. Overall I definitely recommend these poles for ease and stability on the trails.
The grips are a perfect size for my small hands. My fingers don't tingle or fall asleep since the circumference is specific for women. Love the cork grip as well. The tips are very quiet. Very easy to adjust height on the fly with the speed lock+, without taking my gloves off. Very pleased!
My trekking poles work great. They were easy to size and have held the fit well over the past few months and several trips where they were reduced and expanded. I walk an average 5 miles each morning with the poles fitted with rubber "feet" and the poles have worked excellently.
