Best All Around Hammock
Hanging Woodsman
The Double Roo is a great all around hammock. Good for lounging in the park or at school and perfect for all weather backpacking. The Double Roo is comparable to the popular Eno Double Nest hammock. Although Eno seems to be more popular and is a tad cheaper I think the Double Roo is the better hammock. It holds up to 500 lbs to Eno's 400, is 8 inches longer than the ENO, has loops on the edges for an under-quilt or gear, Is softer and lighter feeling than the ENO, is made of recycled material, and is made with fewer material panels. The Eno may be made with more durable material but I have heard of it ripping on the seams. The Double Roo has worked well for me. The Double Roo IS NOT a 2 person sleeping hammock. 2 people can very comfortably lounge in this hammock, which is nice around the campsite, but it is not intended for 2 persons to sleep in- an act that would not be very comfortable. The Double Roo is extra wide so there is plenty of material to pull over oneself while sleeping making a cozy lay. This also provides area for a supported diagonal lay creating a flatter sleep for tall individuals. The hammock does not come with a bug net and it does not have its own ridgeline. Both can easily be added to a kit. The hammock also does not include tree straps but the Python 10' hanging straps by Kammok are easy to use and relatively inexpensive. They are wide so they do not cause tree damage. The hammock will also work with most other hanging systems. I consider myself an experienced hammock camper. I own 3 different types of hammocks; a Warbonnet Blackbird XL, an Eno Double Nest, and a Kammock Double Roo. I have several multi night backpacking trips in one of these hammocks in weather as cold as 16 degrees with snow and as warm as 101. I spent 16 weeks last summer sleeping in a hammock by a lake. This purchase of the Double Roo was for my 6'5 son as his first hammock.

No Straps despite cost

This hammock was about $100 and still came with no straps to hang it, rendering it completely useless for my camping trip. My daughter's from Costco was nearly identical, came with straps and was under $30.

Sleep in a hammock?!?

Never slept in a hammock before this past weekend. I’m 6’7 - 300lbs. I also bought the python 10 straps. Material is great. Extremely easy to set up. I don’t believe I would have fit in a smaller sized hammock. Hardware feels extremely high quality.

Super Comfortable

I bought the Roo double and used it on a bikepacking trip for a week Southbound along the Rockies. I think it was some of the most comfortable sleep that i've had in a long time. I slept on my back and sides without any issues and had no problems getting in or out at any time. I used the bug net frequently but not the Tarp when the weather looked good enough. I loved the amazing views at night from the Kammok of the stars and found that the bug net was enough to keep off any morning dew. I'l be buying the underquilt to go with my setup, i used a sleeping mat but the quilt sounds a better option.

2019 model upgrade was worth it

Have one of the original double Kammoks. Decided to upgrade to the 2019 model. Was totally worth the upgrade. The 2019 model is a significant improvement. In the original model, hanging your legs over the edge was extremely uncomfortable and the integrated stuff sack was kind of a pain. Both issues have been totally resolved in the 2019 model. It's lighter, softer, more comfortable, packs easier, and less expensive. The newest Python straps are also excellent. I have been recommending my friends consider "The Explorers Kit." From my perspective, Kammok products provides better functionality and a nicer aesthetic to their rivals (though ENO hammocks are great too), and at a competitive price.

Shipping issues

Love the product, the outer packaging was ripped upon arrival . It was opened as a gift from the box it came in, and the paper outer shell of the hammock looked to be tapped several times to stay on, and was still ripped. My daughter thought the hammock was used. I catch jabs consistently about the used hammock I bought her.

Best Product Ever Purchased...

I absolutely Love this product, I use it every chance I can get. Every time I set it up I am almost always asked where I got it. Setting it up and breaking it down is so easy. It takes up practically no space, when traveling with it. Which makes it great for camping and using to sleep in. The detail this product is made with is absolutely world class. I have had my entire family in the Kammok at one time, My Wife, Our TWO kids and Myself. It held us without and problem. This is a product that will last a lifetime* (*Since I'm still living I'm testing out the lifetime claim), if not an extremely long time. Way to go Kammok keep up the great work!
