BEST SOCKS EVER!!!!!
I love these socks! I wore them throughout my last cycling/sightseeing trip overseas and found they didn't get as smelly as other socks do, were extremely comfortable and kept my feet drier than any others. Being about 60% wool, I hand washed them when I knew I'd have sufficient time to let them dry (one full day). The "lip" at the top of the socks keeps them from sliding down into my shoes, too! I threw away all my other socks, and just wear these with my athletic shoes now.
Wonderfully Comfortable
I love Smart Wool socks. I just started wearing ankle socks because I have to wear foot drop braces to walk, which means I have to wear tennis shoes to accommodate the braces. I used to wear sandals with shorts and dresses, but now I wear tennis shoes, so ankle socks make them look a little less dorky, I guess. Ha. Anyway, I really like the socks, but they make my ankles swell. I have tiny ankles and lower legs because of the muscle atrophy, so the socks really aren’t that tight, but this is the only ankle sock brand that makes my ankles swell. Weird. But could be just me. I’m trying the other style that come up a bit higher on the ankle. The targeted cushion is wonderful, not to thick and not too thin.
Disappointed
I wear Smartwool running socks and each year I buy more during REI’s May sale. These socks do not live up to the quality of other Smartwool socks purchased from REI in the past. The fit is sloppy and the socks move around during activity. Won’t buy these again.
The best socks I own (and I've had a lot!)
By far my favorite 'active' socks. I am slowly working my way up to replacing all of my other socks with these. They're the only ankle socks I've worn that don't end up falling down into my shoe with all day wear. They also keep my feet cool and have never felt sweaty or moist at all. I've worn this style consistently for over a year now and cannot recommend them enough.
Not Smartwool's best offering
Fits larger than other "medium" Smartwool socks so they slide in my shoes easily. Especially prone to pilling and collecting hair.
Most comfortable socks
I love these socks! I have an issue with Darn Tough socks being too restrictive on my toes, but I still wanted high-quality merino socks for running and hiking. These are thick enough to prevent me from getting blisters, but thin/flexible enough for my toes to still splay out and do what they’re supposed to.
Little by little I replace the sock drawer...
Love the cut and targeted cushioning. My advice is look at the details on Smartwool's website, as they are more precise. Be sure to look at the size chart too, made the mistake to order Small (as I usually do on socks), but I'm actually a Medium with this brand. Fun designs and durable material.
Great comfortable socks
Comfortable socks that don’t slide down into the shoe. Wool socks keep your feet warmer in winter and cooler in summer. These wash well and dry overnight which is important when traveling.
They slip down
These socks were extremely frustrating. Though they fit, they slipped down into my shoes constantly. I had to take them off and go sockless.
Smartwool is my go to for all the things
These socks keep my feet dry and comfortable no matter how many miles I run in them.
