Comfortable and Versatile
I’m typically more of fitted bike short person. I typically take a 4 or 6 but opted for an 8 based on other reviews. The 8 was perfect I’m about 145lbs 5ft4. The short sits well on the leg while hiking for a while. Very breathable which greatly appreciated on a summer hike feeling dry despite how sweaty I can get.
The perfect length short!
This was my first pair of Arc’Teryx shorts and I am VERY impressed! The material is so soft yet so durable and it hugs the body in all the right places. Just might have to get myself another color…. Or two 🙈
I love these shorts
Ok. I was skeptical at first. Pretty pricey but it was worth it. I took them on my trip to Europe. 39 degree weather and I felt cool in them. They are moisture wicking, and very comfortable. They don't stretch out with wear as the day goes on. Flattering cut. Good length. The belt stays tight. I dressed them up and down. Very comfortable. They do make a bit of noise when you walk but I didn't care. I will have to get these in other colours. I am a small- medium usually, I bought a size 6 initially and they were skin tight. The 8 fit much better. Will buy more in future!
Practical and funcational
These shorts has two decent size pockets with zippers. Fabric is light, durable yet soft against the skin. Ideal length, cut and style for most body shape and height. (I'm 5' 0'' and found the Gamma Short 6" length was perfect). Quite stylist looking when worn with a top tucked into the shorts. Nice touch with the belt. Very functional for travelling, easy wear and wear. Dry quickly. Ended up with a second pair.
All purpose shorts
I wear these hiking, to class, to the office when it’s hot out. Very durable fabric and nice deep front slash pockets. My only wish is that there were back square pockets or secondary side pockets (cargo) because larger stuff (phone, sunglasses, wallet) fall out of the large slash pockets. The fabric is also a bit noisy when I walk - swishing sounds.
Comfortable, versatile and cute!
I love how versatile these shorts are – they effortlessly transition from alpine scrambles in the North Cascades to running errands in my hometown. Their durability is impressive, as they have endured butt-scooting across rocky and rough terrain without a scratch; they still look brand new! My only complaint would be that I experienced a minor issue while top-rope rock climbing in them. The shorts are so comfortable that I used them for climbing. Once I got lowered and took off my harness, I noticed that the buckle on the high-waist undid itself. Fortunately, the shorts didn't slide down or interfere with my climbing at all, but it's worth noting that the harness rubbing against the buckle might be the cause. Despite this issue with the harness, I love these shorts and plan to continue wearing them in the city and during my next mountain adventures. They are the perfect combination of comfort, style, and durability for a wide range of activities.
Not cut for waist/hip ratio
These just aren’t very comfortable. The rise is too short if you have a decent waist/hip ratio, so unless you want to wear them as hip huggers, they don’t fit right. Also agree with the other reviewer who said the fabric too loud when walking.
Makes too much noise when walking
I love Arcteryx, but both their pants and shorts make noise when you walk - it actually drives me crazy. So these had to go back. It probably has to do with the technical material (which I love, except the noise)
Staple shorts in my closet
The fit of these is so awesome. I got a larger size to wear low-waisted and they still have the best silhouette. The structure is so perfect, spacious pockets and really sleek and cool.
indestructible
I love, love these shorts. Honestly I’m going to wear them forever! Perfect fit, great pockets and tough! Oh and I think they look quite timeless.
