Arc'teryx  Essent High-Rise Leggings 26" - Women's

Tested these new leggings out on a few laps of the Sea to Summit trail in squeamish and didn't have to adjust the waist once. They stayed in place perfectly! So far they've crushed all hikes are nice and light - excited to bring them traveling as my go to!

I wanted to buy a second pair of Oriel in black (I have them in grey) to swap them around in between washes. But this is the only legging available atm – what happen to the Oriel? I can't find them anywhere! Regarding the Essent – why would you add a front crotch seam? It took me years to find the perfect legging (the Oriel) which is finally taking into SERIOUS consideration the female body anatomy – so why making this legging and going backwards? Also the Oriel is perfect in any situation from casual wearing, to yoga, to hiking to running – which means I literally only need to own one legging (or two) – which also means sustainability. Just bring to Oriel back and ditch this one!

I loved the oriel tights and I so wish I had bought more than I did when they were available. I wear them every time I go backpacking and they’re also great around town. Please bring them back.

I do love these pants. The compression feels great, the colours are awesome, and they seem to be pretty durable (help up to the few knee scrapes on plastic on the gym). My only issue is how much the waist bagged out after wearing once. The compression felt great at first, but the waist definitely stretch out a lot while moving. They felt fine while walking around at home prior to taking tags off, so that sucks I can no longer return for a smaller size. Will still wear, but for pricey pants like this you would hope they would hold their shape a bit better! Especially for activewear.

Love the colour of this legging. However the sizing for me misses. They are extremely tight on the legs, so much so that I had to size up from my regular size in order to get them up and over. However in sizing up to allow for this, the waist is too big. I do have a petite athletic build, muscular legs and flat torso.The front seam is also a big no for me. Love how soft they are though, maybe after wearing for a bit longer they won't be so tight. Also LOVE the pockets on these, a lot of the time with leggings the pockets aren't deep enough for a finger let alone a cliff bar!

While I understand leggings are not going to be as durable as a thicker pant, for an item that is marketed in the first sentence of the item description as a tough climbing/hiking pant they seem to have fallen apart since the second I wore them doing anything other than sitting at home. Seams frayed immediately, and they ripped my first time climbing in them during a mantel move. They stretched out so that I have to pull them up while running, and I felt like I was wearing a sweaty trash bag when the temps rose. Really disappointed in these and don’t recommend at all.

Been wearing these for nearly a week now for different activities and can say that after never really liking leggings I am converted. These leggings offer a nice amount of support and are high waisted so you don’t have to worry about them falling down. Material is super nice and feels nice against the skin. The pockets on the sides are super handy too and you can barely feel that there’s something in there (nearly freaked myself out thinking I had lost my phone when it was in fact in the pocket). Could have probably gone down a size but found the 4 quite difficult to get over my ankles at the bottom hem. Not giving it the full five stars just yet until I use them for more activities :) but would definitely recommend!

LOVE these leggings so much, they are probably the most flattering leggings I have ever worn. The material is something between a spandex and a softshell material, unlike anything I have ever seen in other leggings. The result is a versatile pant that can be dressed up for wearing on a night out or for work, or more active pursuits. Which leads me to the only gripe I have with these leggings. Due to the softshell-like material, which is firmer and more slippery than most leggings, means they slide down as soon as I do any higher impact activity in them. I actually bought them for running, but they slide down so much they are now in my "every day" clothing category. They even slide down when hiking or doing yard work. This could be solved with the simple addition of a drawstring in the waistband. Please consider adding this in future revisions of the product!! Also to note the issues with sizing that other reviewers have mentioned, my experience is that they fit true to size, but out of the box they felt MUCH tighter. I am 5'6" 125 lbs and normally am a 4, I sized up to a 6 based on reviews. When I first put them on I was shocked to think they would be way too tight. But after wearing for a short while they relaxed into a perfectly comfortable if not generous fit; I probably could have gone with my regular size for a more active fit.

I purchased these because I love my Oriel 26 leggings from last season. I am very disappointed in the changes that have been made to these leggings and the sizing. I wore a small very comfortably in the Oriels but I can barely get the size 6 on in the Essents. I would probably have to size up to a 10 to comfortable do any type of sport. The material is thicker and more structured than the Oriel material which I don't mind, but the seams and fit are not as flattering. Hoping to see the Oriel leggings back for summer!

I purchased these at the start of the season as the Oriels were no longer being produced. These leggings offer great compression and I love their silhouette. I'm a little peeved that for a legging that's made high-waisted, that the band simply won't stay in place. I'm constantly having to tug on the waist band to keep them up where that had not been an issue with the Oriels. Considering, the thick fabric and compressibility of the Essent Legging far outweighs that slight inconvenience.
