Great Shirt, Sizing Is Odd
Bought the XL. I'm 6'0", 220lbs and usually wear XL for decent fit or XXL for loose fit. This shirt at XL is too long. I could have a torso 4" taller and the sleeves go down to the knuckles of my hand and the wrist is very loose. That said, the torso size makes me nervous to buy this shirt in large. The shoulders fit well, chest is decent, stomach is way loose. I really like the feel of the wool and it performed great keeping me cool in the sun and warm in the shade. 120 wool is thin like women's leggings for reference.

Nice Material, Good Color, Terrible Fit
Ordered this shirt to ride, run, and backpack in long sleeves during the SW Colorado summer, e.g., sun & heat. The material would have been good for that but like the other reviewers, I found that the sizing is bizarre. I have smartwool 150s and 250s in small, and they fit like a glove and work well. This shirt and the REI price tag both say the size is small, and it is advertised as generously cut rather than form-fitting, but in reality it is so ridiculously oversized that it seems that it should have been marked as a large. The sleeves hang to the fingertips, the hem is 3 inches below the waist, the shoulders would better fit Mike Trout, and the midriff is like a luffing sail. Useless for the intended purpose.

Terrible fit

I like the material. It's soft and comfortable. I have a 150 weight Smartwool shirt that fits nicely. This one, however, is oddly shaped. The neck hole is too big, the sleeves too long, the torso too baggy. I had to return it as it just wasn't wearable.

super fragile

I own seven of these shirts, they're my go-to for warm weather hiking and running. Very comfortable, help me stay cool and protect from the sun. Only problem is durability; I have several that lasted me about a year and then developed small holes. Not ideal, but for the amount of use I got from them it felt ok. So I purchased a new shirt as replacement a few months ago, and the new one developed a hole after just two times wearing / washing it. I'm definitely not ok with that. Bummer, but I will switch to a different brand and see if they are more durable. Can't spend this kind of money on a shirt that only lasts a few weeks.

Too Big

This shirt is about 2 sizes too big. Even after washing it.

Lightweight but tough

About this shirt again, extra big so that I could wear it as a layering piece or when it gets warmer. Living in the desert of Colorado, there's not a lot of moisture so when you sweat through Merino it evaporates like it should. I never understood why people wore a long sleeve shirt in the heat when I was a kid but the more hot places you go the more you'll see people wearing them- there's a reason for that. A good one. Smartwool is one of the best made and smartly designed gear makers around and this is a solid addition.

Worth every single penny!

My recent purchase of this long sleeve shirt has been nothing short of exceptional! I'm so impressed that I ended up going back for more. Their lightweight wool blend fabric is a total game-changer, there's nothing quite like them on the market. I have a variety in my wardrobe I purchased these shirts in several different colors and I'm loving them all! So, if you're in search of supreme comfort, odor resistance, and flexibility, then these shirts are an absolute must-have! Trust me, they're worth every single penny!

Super Light and Soft

I'm really liking the feel of this long sleeve from Smartwool. It's soft/lightweightness will be great on warmer days when I still want some sun protection on my arms. Very breathable also. I received the large, which is what I mostly wear but it was quite a bit longer then what I'm use to from Smartwool. After the first wash it did shrink up a little bit and fits better now. Had I gotten the medium a normal wash cycle may have made it too small. Just a helpful tip if you are teetering between sizing. #SmartwoolLove

Awesome fabric. Absolutely terrible fit.

I have worn Smartwool for 20 years or more: socks, shirts, gloves, hats, tights, you name it. I've worn a medium in every shirt I've ever purchased. The medium I received was comically large. Neck was like a women's scoop neck. Arms were too long(and I have long arms). Arms were baggy. Body of the shirt was huge. Shirt length was too long. I wasn't looking for compression fit by any means, but I might have confused this shirt with an XL. Fabric was awesome! Soft, cool touch, supple. I hope a small fits.
