Purchased these and used them for the first time for exploring Carlsbad Caverns in NM and couldn’t be happier! Hiked over 6 miles in the caverns that day and absolutely no blisters or sore areas on my feet or ankles whatsoever! This is huge for me especially with new boots…needed no breaking in time! Very happy and pleased with my purchase…performed awesomely! It was cool in the caverns (50’s) but my feet stayed warm without sweating…my feet and ankles were not even feeling tired at the end of the day! Thank you Merrell for creating a boot that is comfortable, tough & cool to look at too! Performance is key but I wanted a boot that was stylish as well and I think you achieved that! 👍🏻 I purchased the red, tan & black color! Love them!
I’ve been wearing Moabs for years and they have taken me hiking in many parts of the world.. They are comfortable and reliable, and keep my feet dry in rain, mud, and during water crossings. The sole is grippy, giving me confidence on rocks, gravel, and other slippery spots. A new pair doesn’t even need to be broken in. I just put them on and go!
First time wearing Merrell and after hiking 40+ miles at Glacier National Park and living in the Appalachian Mountain range these boots held up great! From rocky trails to pretty much 3 inches of mud they are still going strong. My feet stay dry.
I like the boot, it is my 4rth set and I get about 750 miles of rough hiking out of each set.
I took these boots hiking through waterfalls and rocky trails in Iceland, and they were incredible. They handled slippery, uneven terrain like a champ—great grip, waterproofing that actually works, and surprisingly comfortable for long hikes. My feet stayed warm and dry even when crossing shallow streams and walking in constant mist. Highly recommend for anyone looking for reliable boots for rugged, wet adventures.
Bought my original Merrells about 15 yrs. ago and loved them. Unfortunately, I blew out both my hiking shoes and boots in the same year. Found these Moab 3 Gore-Tex and have started breaking them in. So far, I love these equally. I buy a size 6.5 for a little extra room for thick socks for winter hiking and shoeing. Yes, they run a smidge wide but this allows for those thick socks. Great design bring lots of compliments from others. I wear them biking, hiking, and working currently. So far, they grip well on snow, but like all shoes, slip on ice. Highly recommend!
The boots were exactly what I needed for this adventure
We hiked 40-miles in the mountains. I really needed new hiking boots and read these don’t need breaking in. I gambled hard because I had no time to break them in. They were right! These were specular! Paired with their socks, unmatched. Over 6 days and several miles of hiking, I can confidently say, these saved my feet and were so amazing on questionable surfaces. To add, I bought another companies socks while on this trip, they were expensive and a well known company specifically for hiking, and these had a hole in them and caused my toes pain. Buying their socks is a great idea and it felt like walking on plush carpet when I had the on in the house. Highly recommend!
I have bought moabs for 10 years+. Always the same size, always the same fit. Really disappointed with the moab3 fit, which is much narrower around the toes. I also wasn't a big fan of the plastic feel. I have loved my Merrells because they have never given me blisters and have always fit beautifully right out of the box with zero wear in time. I am now going back to the drawing board with different brands, different pressure points, different foot pain etc to see what will be my new go to shoe. First world problems I know, but finding the right boot is a time consuming and expensive exercise :(.
I wore these boots on a seven km hike over rocks the day after I bought them and again on a 10 km hike with a 1.1 km ascent over rocks the very next day. I experienced complete comfort and support with excellent traction and grip with absolutely no soreness in my feet at all.
