Comfortable and fairly well made
I bought a prior version of these shorts a couple years ago and they have served me well. I just bought the recent version, and they seem very similar if maybe a little bit less quality. Fabric seems a bit thinner. But overall, they seem very satisfactory and comfortable. I'll see how they last. One thing about size. When I bought the prior version I got a medium as the size chart indicated was good for me - 5'11' (h), 165 lbs, 33' (w). They were too small, and I exchanged them for a Large and those were just right. This time around I remembered that and went right for the large and that is the best fit for me even though the size chart suggests medium. I think they run small.

Poor Quality!
I have two pair of old Quest bike shorts that I love, but after years of use, they are loosing their stretch. There is no comparison between the design and construction of the old shorts and these new Quest shorts: the old shorts use all low-profile flatlock seams, the new shorts have raised seams (=chafe), uncomfortable chamois that is stitched with a zigzag stitch (=major chafe point along the edge of the chamois) and the front part of the waist band is sewn so the lower edge sticks out (again=chafe). These are being returned. (And so much for my impression that the name Pearl Izumi is synonymous with quality.)

Very happy with them

Very happy with the product for the price point. These were my first padded bike shorts and they are a marked improvement from no cushion. Just took them on my first century and while they aren't able to stop all discomfort (especially for a ride of that distance) they made it a lot more enjoyable. They don't ride up at all thanks to the grips at the bottom. Only complaint is that the cushion feels like it's set a bit too far forward in the shorts—I found myself pulling them up high in back to move the cushion back farther. Then again, that may just be a function of a fairly relaxed riding position.

Nice for shorter rides

I bought these 2mos ago for a long 85 miler. Men's shorts work better for me 99% of the time. These were ok for the first 40 miles, but the padding was not substantial enough to maintain comfort until the end. I ended up purchasing the Expedition shorts for my long rides and use these for 40 miles or less

Cheap shorts-good for short rides/indoor training.

Not the best shorts I've ever purchased. Shorts are comfortable, but padding is thin. Not good for long rides. I use it for my in door trainer. Got it on sale, cuz I sure wouldn't pay full price for these.

Poor Quality Shorts

Elastic is missing in the front so they fall down. They are also very short compared with the previous Quest shorts that I was replacing

My go to shorts

I've had several pairs of these over the years a like them a lot. The hold up well. I'm 5' 9", 175 lbs, with 34-35 waist, and wear a large. They fit to my liking, not too tight or too big.

Cheap cycling, shorts, in adequate padding

Cheaply made Bicycle shorts, almost nonexistent padding, just avoiding these, sadly, the quality of pearl Izumi products is lacking

Great shorts

These are so comfortable and don’t ride up your legs. Padding is perfect for log rides.

Good Product & Excellent Customer Service

First pair of cycling shorts I've bought. They were worth the money, especially since I was able to use store credit and my member discount on the item. I don't notice I'm wearing them while I'm cycling and they provide the needed cushion for increasingly long rides. They fit as expected and don't get in the way. I would definitely recommend the product to anyone, although if you can use a coupon or find them on sale, that would be ideal. Employees in the store were knowledgeable and were able to provide personal feedback on the items I was looking to purchase. They helped me to order the product that was the best fit for my budget and needs. I was impressed with the shipping process and how quickly the shorts arrived. It was very convenient!
