Great Backpack

This bag is highly adjustable to fit your body. This is a very comfortable bag when hiking rough terrain and feels like a cloud on your back. The bag is not too hot and you stay cool when working up a sweat. Can fit enough gear for a 1-2 day backpacking trip if you pack light. I love the side zipper it makes getting to your stuff easy. The adjustments on this bag do not fall short and are amazing, much better than Velcro!

Hard Plastic Adjustments Equal Little/No Comfort!

I purchased this as a replacement for my older Stratos 36L. How I ended up being fitted for a men's pack all those years ago, I have no idea. Regardless, I walked two 600+ mile Caminos in Spain with little issue, other than some shoulder pain, which I now realize is because it was a men's pack and the straps were too far apart. I replaced it with this bag, and due to a family illness, was unable to test it fully packed on a longer hike. "No problem," I thought! My last pack was wonderful and this one will be even better! Unfortunately, this bag has a new frame design - instead of the frame being adjustable using velcro, it is adjusted by choosing one of five predetermined slots. And, those slots line up directly with my shoulder blades and cause considerable discomfort. I've adjusted and readjusted the pack, to no avail. I'm stuck with it, as I sewed my camino patches on it before I left - huge mistake on my part. When I walk another Camino next year, I'll be buying a new pack for sure - 450 miles on this one this year, and all of them were uncomfortable.

Bad customer service

I live this pack but this is the second one I got that is defective. First had a defective ice axe loop and this one has a wrong buckle. I called osprey and was told I need to take it to rei. And was told I would be sent a return thing for something else and never got it. I’m really disappointed with ospreys customer service. Luckily rei has been great!!

Tested out the Sirrus 36

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tested out the Sirrus 36 for the first time in the Moosehead Lake Region in Maine. This pack is great for any type of hike from a short day hike to a long trek and beyond. It's very comfortable and sits well on the shoulders. The weight distribution is great and it is very easy to adjust as you're moving. It is very easy to secure your trekking poles and you'll be checking to see if they fell out because you don't notice them - don't worry, they're still there. Absolutely great pack for all types of hiking and treks. However, this pack truly shines on moderate-hard trails that require some climbing and meneuvering. You have to try it.

Love This Pack But It Just Doesn't Fit Me!

I'm somewhat heartsick I can't keep this pack. I love the zippered compartments...easy access and also very tidy and contained. I LOVE the sage color! I will buy this pack as soon as you create it with the old system of S/M & M/L suspension systems. As a 5'0"" woman I just don't ever fit anything created to be one-size-fits-all! When I put it on, I can't put my head back to look up &, frankly, it just looks ridiculous. I understand that making only one pack sizing system is cost effective, but for anyone who is vertically-challenged, it just doesn't work. Please redo it...and keep the great color! I would recommend this to anyone who is over 5'5"".

One size fits all doesn't really work if you have a short to

I had an older SIrrus 36 pack that was sized, rather than one-size-adjustable. I LOVED that pack and wore it out. Very comfortable, fit great. I wanted to love this pack. I am tall but have a short torso, so I have to adjust the pack for a shorter back. That leaves the top of the pack riding too high on my neck. I can't comfortably wear a brimmed hat with the pack (I look up and the hat gets knocked down into my eyes, which is not comfortable or safe). Ones size fits all doesn't work for people at the shorter end of the size range. PLEASE bring back the excellent SIZED Sirrus packs you used to have. It was a great product.

camino

I bought my Sirrus 36 to walk the Camino Portuguese. It was just right, and I really love it. It fitted everything I needed (no tent), I carried about 8kg. It was always comfortable and I’m not a particularly strong person; I was able to adjust the frame to fit me well. The pocket layout was very good, I could always find the things I needed easily. Although we didn’t have heavy rain, I used the waterproof cover for showers often, and everything stayed very dry. I love the design. All of the clips and zips feel so nice to use. My husband will be buying the Stratus for our next trip.

Perfect Camino pack

I really loved my Sirrus 36 (teal colour) for a recent multi-week walk on the Camino, it was my favourite piece of kit, fitted perfectly with no shoulder or other pain, while some others on the trail seemed to ache or hate their pack after a time. Literally only downsides are hip pockets are on the smaller side so useful for sunscreen and tissues but not phone but plenty of alt pockets and options, and the white straps will eventually not look as white as they do now.

Sirrus 36 Women’s Rucksack

I purchased this rucksack for general hillwalking. There is ample room for winter walking gear including crampons and ice axe. The fit of the rucksack is excellent, making for a comfortable carry. My only gripe is that the size of the pockets on the waist belt are too small! It’s a struggle to fit a compass and a folded A4 poly pocket containing a printed map into one. Love the colour and the rain cover seems very secure even in quite windy conditions.

Defective backpack

My wife picked up her new Osprey Sirrus 36 pack at REI. While we were still in the store, the employee was adjusting the pack and one of the small synch cords broke. The employee barely pulled on it. We had to return it while still in the store and order a new one. Not a good impression. I wonder if these packs will last.
