Good beginner shoe

This was the first climbing shoe I ever purchased. I've never climbed outside, but this shoe served me well for both top-roping and bouldering over the last few years. They are comfortable and easy to take on and off, and the "vent" over the toes helps them air out, but after the initial break-in period I actually found that they became a little too big for me. I would say that this shoe runs closer to your actual street shoe size, though you might want to size down half a size knowing that they will loosen up significantly. The rubber isn't particularly sticky, so sometimes it is difficult to trust to my feet on greasy holds. Good for heel hooks but not very good for toe hooks. Overall I think I have outgrown this shoe and I'm ready to upgrade, but for a beginner this is a great shoe to get you started.

I typically wear 7/7.5, and could not fit heel into a 7.5. Returning, but unsure what size I would need. I suggest up sizing 1-2 sizes and seeing if that works. Wish I could provide performance review, but alas my foot didn't fit.

Good quality shoe, however, my size 4 child could not fit into the 5.5 with no socks and considerable effort. We kept the shoes because they fit my size 3 kid almost perfectly.
