[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The method climbing shoes really surprised me as a great sport climbing shoe. It took me 5 days to break them in with 2 sessions just wearing them on the couch. The heal is tight but feels really secure. I have a wide foot and I found them a tad narrow I would like to get the velcro closed tighter. I used them at the New River Gorge climbing .9, 10, and 11s and they preformed really well. I would agree that they are an aggressive shoe. I had a foot cramp the first time I put them on, which is always a good sign of forced muscle engagement. I feel the price point is less expensive compared to other brands but still having the quality of shoe. I would like to see more colors I love a white climbing shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried these shoes bouldering in the gym, on granite slabs, and sandstone sport climbs. I was impressed with how well they performed on demanding overhung climbs, and the uppers allowed for confident toe hooks. Outside, they excelled edging far better than I expected. However, they lack the ability to perform well on small pockets outdoors due to the toe shape. The rubber was sticky enough to perform on granite, but the split sole prevents the stiffness necessary for long granite multipitch routes. They perform best on overhung sport and boulders, with a heel that conforms well for aggressive heel hooks. They do run a little small; I’m normally a 37 in LS and Unparallel, but I would have upsized these shoes to a 38. Black Diamond gave me these shoes free to try.
I love using these moderates as my primary stiff shoe. I won’t use them on overhangs often because of the lack of toe rubber due to the double straps, but these are incredible for small and precise footholds as well as climbing outside. I often struggle to find shoes that cup my heel and don’t slip or pop, but these are one of the few pairs that don’t do any of that. This shoe performs great and it’s a cheaper price than some of my favorite aggressives on the market.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Black Diamond Method Climbing Shoes are superior to previous models of shoes Black Diamond produced. This low volume shoe allows for precise edging on small holds, has sticky rubber, plenty of extra Black Label FR Rubber on the top of the shoes for toe hooks and the heel as well for those much needed heel hooks for us shorter climbers. The shoe fits well on my narrow feet, although I would size up at least1/2 size from your street shoe size. The tabs on the back of the shoe allow you too easily slip your feet in and the Velcro with the overlapping tongues make the shoe closure comfortable. The design with two separate sections of rubber, one for the heel and one for the toes, allow for foot flexibility with the toes are stiff enough to get a good edge. I highly recommend trying these out. Black Diamond gave me these shoes for free to test.
Stoked to wear them. Just the kind of shoes I need to boulder and take with me on my expedition trip to Nepal. Classy and has a adequate grip
I am finding this to be an excellent shoe as a step up from my beginner, neutral shoes. Great grip and fit.
