Lightweight, doesn't tangle, easy to attach

I wanted a way to ensure I didn't drop my sunnies when taking them off, and for it to not get too tangled with my face mask elastic. This means I know I can keep my sunglasses safe and damage-free by not accidentally dropping them. That's a win! I would have liked some less colorful options to choose from but this is a minor thing. The colors keeps my items interesting. Didn't know how useful they are until I got it! In terms of the length, it dangles down to my upper chest.

To Help See The Views!

I bought these kind of last minute while I was shopping in store. I wear glasses for everyday, and I always have a fear of them falling off when I’m hiking up a scrambling summit. So I snagged these to ensure safety. I recently hiked the Devils BackBone trail to Mt. baldy when there was very high winds in some parts. I felt security that my glasses would stay put with this strap! It definitely helped conserve energy on worrying about keeping them on my head, haha. I will say though, I wear wire framed glasses that have a thin wire holding them up. This strap tends to slide up and down the sides while hiking (granted, slowly so it’s not super noticeable) but you will get annoyed when it blocks your view. I tend to push it back more to the thicker areas of my glasses to avoid more movement. But be aware for his if you have wire frames!

literally saved me from needing new glasses

Bought this on a whim before a kayaking trip thinking it would be nice to keep my prescription sunglasses in place a little better. Thank goodness I had it on, because when I hit a rough patch and my kayak capsized and I got pushed under water, my glasses stayed perfectly in place. If you’re a glasses wearer and outdoorsy, this is an essential tbh

Great Chums

My chums are great! They’re stylish to my way of thinking, go well with practically all my clothes and most of all keep my eyeglasses handy & secure. I’m an older lady who doesn’t do a lot of trekking but I do wrestle with my 2 year old grandson daily and he truly puts them to the test. Thankfully, by the end of the day, the straps look clean and neat despite the tugs and bangs from a lot of use. This is not my first pair but I do not have to replace them often . For formal occasions I sometimes briefly change them up for black. But the colorful woven cloth ones are my favorite. Mountains, playground, seaside, opera house, wherever I go they’re with me. A great, affordable, reliable product for sure. Thanks

Broke shortly after buying

These were very nice while they lasted for about 1.5 months. I’m not sure how but this pair came apart where the rope meets the rubber. I’ve had other pairs of chums before and they’ve been good so, just won’t buy this style again.

Buyer beware, rubber grips stretch out quickly.

Attractive but the rubber ends that are supposed to grip the glasses totally stretches out in about a month. I learned the hard way when my bulky framed Maui Jim sunglasses dropped, and the strap was still around my neck. I don't recommend this strap.

Poor REI.com user interface

Rating REI.com user experience at this point. Although I selected a specific pattern, I received a different on that I don't want. Wondering if they simply send a random pattern regardless of what was ordered. Will return.

Not Durable

Came unstitched within days. Much happier with the parachute cord version of this product.

Functional AND stylin’

Most sunglass straps are SO dorky looking. This one is cute, thin enough that my sunglasses still fit into their case with it on, and now I can just toss my sunglasses off and on while hiking through scattered shade & not worry about losing or dropping them. This strap feels really well made and grips the wire arms of my Sunskis well, but they’ll probably work better on plastic frames. Overall a great little impulse buy!

Sunglass strap that does the trick

Bought this to ensure that my sunglasses don't fall off while doing activities outside. So far it has done the job. I also like that it allows me to take my sunglasses off and let them dangle at a easy, convenient place on my chest rather than having to pack them away. I feel like the attachment points are a bit clunky, but I got used to them pretty quick.
