I was interested in the functionality of this chair as a double for a sleeping pad for backpacking but for me it is a bit too bulky/heavy and not insulated enough for sleeping (I'll stick to bringing a sleeping pad and a cut up z-rest for a chair). But as a chair for sitting on a friend's lawn or at an outdoor festival I think it works just fine. It provides protection from grass and can be adjusted with the side straps to provide just the right amount of angle. It does provide a small amount of insulation from the ground. But also, if you don't keep your legs down (like you want to sit with your knees bent totally up), then your legs don't hold the chair back in place and you fall backwards. So it somewhat limits sitting positions. But it's a lot lighter and easier to tote around than an actual camp chair and provides more backrest than just trying to find a tree on which to put your Z-rest. So I'm waffling on its usefulness...but will still use the chair occasionally!
I used this chair at a concert- lawn seats at an outdoor venue. Having a chair back to rest against made the concert much more enjoyable. I also took it along with me on 7 mile kayak trip so i had a comfy seat when i took a break. It easily slipped behind my seat. The chair is a little stiff but it is getting better with each use. It is comfortable to sit on and the extended length keeps your legs off the grass/ dirt/ sand. Its easy to roll up and carry. I would not recommend this for long backpacking trips bc it is bulky and heavy. It would be great for overnight paddling trips, though. It could serve both as a seat and a sleeping pad.
Great for watching my grandson’s basketball games on benches with no back support. Having to be uncomfort- able hunched over watching the game days are gone. Now it’s pleasurable sitting back with back support and even being able to rock back and forth. I use the Crazy Creek Hex 2.0 Power Lounger Chair because I can fold up the extension back onto the seat for additional comfort. I highly recommend this product to ease the pain of sitting for an hour plus. It saves your back bigtime from being hunched over and fidgeting to get comfortable. Sit back and be comfortable and relax and enjoy the game.
Ive owned and used it for years mostly as a beach or picnic pad. I never used as a chair only because I felt it was too rigid. . Today I found a new purpose for it, and wanted to share. Someone started having a seizure on the beach today, and there was no stretcher available to move the person. This little pad worked like a charm as a makeshift stretcher, and all those fastening straps worked like handles. Omg, this thing is so sturdy, you can haul logs on it.
Very nice product. Originaly purchased Crazy Creek Hex 2.0 "Original Chair", found that back segment was too low for me in extended periods of leaning back. This chair is better suited to my 6'-2" 215# frame as the back segment is 4" taller and width is 2.5" wider. Additional length beyond seat portion is really nice when your on the ground (ie Grass, Sand, Rocks, Dirt.......) or fold it back for additional butt padding. Easily packs into carry-on luggage folded flat or rolled down to 6" diameter. The attached roll strap is handy and is long enough to encompass the chair and a rolled towel. I do suggest attaching a length of parachute cord for hands free carry. Have yet to use seated in wet/snow conditions but can say it succesfully shed numerous spilled beers at recent music festival - Yea EV, Yea PJ !!!!
I was really excited to get this product because it's a really great company and I thought I'd get a lot of use out of this. It's extremely easy to use and set up. Simply sit down, adjust the straps, and instant sitting everywhere. It's a little tough at first but softens up nicely with use. The only issue I had is I couldn't really find a time I would pick it over something else. If I'm going in a car, there are far more comfortable seats that pack up small and light to throw in the back of the car. If going backpacking or for a hike, the rectangular shape is a little unwieldly to fit, and a sitting pad does the job for me. Maybe if you really needed the back support, but I still found myself reaching for a sturdier packable chair. In the end, I think it's a great company with a solid product, it's just that with the times many more specialized options exist that this one kind of ends up somewhere in the middle of the mix. Would still consider and look forward to trying out other and newew products from the company.
I have backpacked with this for the past year and love it! It's a great seat at the end of the day and it's nice to be seated right beside my camp stove so I'm not bent over cooking. When it's time for bed, I use it as a door mat to my tent and, when needed, can place it under my air mattress for added R-value and/or puncture resistance. During the day, it makes for a great seat during breaks and a good nap pad around lunch. I just wish it could somehow be a little lighter without sacrificing quality.
Color Olive slate is advertised in the photos as being much lighter and brighter than it actually is. It is pretty dark , charcoal and darker green. When out in woods, i like to be able to see the ticks and this is too dark. Comfort while using it is fine if you are in a pinch and just need to sit for a second and dont want to sit on ground, but uncomfortable for long time. My back starts to curl inward and I am small at 5'4" . The best use I can see for this is honestly for an emergency pad for my toddler. If I needed to lay her down while hiking, she can fit on it flat. Debating keeping or not. for stadium seating it might work but honestly just not comfortable for the natural shape of the back. When backpacking, i would rather pack an actual seat off the ground like with the rei flexlite
This is the first camp chair I have purchased and it delivers the goods! Lightweight and compact. The seated position is easily adjusted and comfortable. AND it doubles as a sleeping pad, great for hiking or taking a nap in the living room. He fabric appears to be very durable and should have a good long life.
I am returning this chair. Two flaws: 1. It's narrow, and I only weigh 106. It squishes your arms in tight to your sides. 2. It's cumbersome. You cannot roll it tight and you cannot carry it easily when you are in camp and want to bring it with you to different sites. Ick.
