I recently upgraded from my outdated '80s Dynastars, and the difference is insane. Most people getting these are probably beginner to intermediate, and I think they're perfect for that. They work great on the groomers and the light snow I've encountered, and they offer a lot of control at higher speeds (especially compared to my 40-year-old toothpicks.) They come WITH bindings—for the price, that's outstanding. So far I've used these on Greens, Blues, and one Black Diamond, and they've been more than sufficient. So, if you're a beginner or intermediate skier looking for an inexpensive setup, these are definitely for you. Even if you're advanced and want a deal, these are great. My Stats for Reference: Height — 6'2" or 187.96 cm Weight — 195 lbs or 88.4505 kg Age — 26 Skill Level — Intermediate to Advanced (Comfortable on all Blues and Easier Blacks in Colorado)
I've been on these skis since January of 22 and they've been great. They were very easy to learn on. They allow you to slide through turns, and when you learn to get the ski up on edge the turn initiates easily and gives you the confidence to progress. For such a lightweight ski they are smooth and stable at speed. The included Look bindings are a perfect match. This is a great ski to start out on, and one that will allow you to progress without needing to upgrade after a season or two.
Bought these skis a month ago and have used them several time in WA. I would consider my self as intermediate and I was a bit concerned if these where too much on a beginner level for me, but I did not regret one single time that I bought this model. They are really light weight, really stable with high speed and for a very reasonable price (includes bindings).
Bindings we’re installed in store when I picked up the skis free of charge. Fits time skiing on them was great. These performed really well in Keystone, CO.
I bought the Experience 78 Carbon because I enjoyed the Experience 76 CI that I had rented last year. The 76 was a good ski but I wanted a ski that was a little stiffer and more responsive while being forgiving when I get tired at the end of the day. The 78 Carbon is exactly what I had hoped it would be. I consider it to be a perfect ski for intermediate skiers like me who maybe aren't as fit as you could be and get out on the slopes a few times a year.
These skis are very light in weight and carve very well. I came back to relatively narrow ones because I rarely ski in powder. The vast majority of my runs are on crusty and/or icy snow. I definitely feel more in control on these skis.
Perfect camber and rocker profile, right flex rating, stable... and they carve effortless. 100% recommended for beginners to intermediate skiers.
