Very unimpressed
It's a beautiful rope and seems very nice. Until i did a few easy, 5.5-5.8 climbs with no craziness (no ledges or sharp rock edges) and somehow frayed the rope with the core exposed. The sheath is completely gashed. My partner and I can't understand how it happened. Needless to so we're both extremely unimpressed with this rope. Luckily it's with-in 9 meters of one of the ends so I can just cut it off without retiring the rope altogether. This is an expensive rope and I will never ever purchase another Maxim Rope.
Has its flaws, but it's a good rope
I got this rope more than two years ago, it has its flaws, but overall it's a good rope. Pros : Very durable, the dual pattern of this rope makes rappelling far more straightforward than it would be otherwise, I've used it for sport cragging, long multipitches, as well as trad, and it has always worked well. Cons : It's somewhat stiff, doesn't slide through my belay devices (I use a grigri and an ATC) as easily as 9.5 ropes do, and it's fairly heavy, which becomes very noticeable when leading long pitches or linking pitches together on some multipitch. With all that being said, it's a good general use rope. If you only care about one discipline of climbing, say sport climbing (or ice and mixed, or whatever), you'll definitely be able to find something better on the market than this. But it's a really good all-around rope, and it can definitely take a considerable amount of abuse.

Great rope!
This was my first rope, and I'm very pleased! Love the pattern and vibrant colors. I got tons of use out of it since last spring and it's holding up well!
