I received the Snow Peak chair for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. First off, there are definitely some high points. The chair’s made with this really sturdy canvas that feels like it’ll last a lifetime. Sitting in it? Super comfy, which is exactly what you want for those long, lazy days outside. Plus, it’s got this sleek look that really catches the eye. You can tell Snow Peak didn't just throw this together; there’s a lot of quality craftsmanship here. But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. The chair packaging threw me off a bit. When I first got it, the packaging felt on the cheaper side, not really what you’d expect for something with premium pricing. The setup instructions weren’t much better, with some noticeable spelling mistakes – they even got “chair” wrong. This doesn't scream attention to detail or quality. Now, on the practical side, there are a couple of issues. The chair’s pretty bulky when folded up, making it a bit of a hassle to carry around and store. It doesn’t stand up on its own when folded, and the shoulder strap (which isn’t even attached) is more annoying than useful. After giving it a thorough look-over and weighing the pros against the cons, I'm leaning towards it not being worth that much. It’s definitely a quality piece, don't get me wrong, but for a premium price, I would expect something a bit more... polished, especially in terms of user-friendliness and attention to detail. To wrap it up: if you’re all about comfort and style and don’t mind splurging, this chair might still be right up your alley. But if you're like me and value both form and function, especially when it comes to the finer details and overall convenience, it might be worth looking elsewhere. Add On: I left the chair outside for two weeks by mistake while it rained almost the entire time. When I remembered it was outside I found the canvas full of water, leaves, and bugs. It was stained and looked super gross. I popped the canvas off and threw it in the washer. It came out looking good as new. This ups my recommendation level.
High quality chair that I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a simple chair to use for camping, backyard hangouts, soccer games, etc. A couple things to call out: 1. HIGH quality material. Hands down more durable than your typical camping chair. 2. Really simple to fold/unfold and paired with a simple shoulder strap. 3. Looks great. Not that it's the most important part of buying a chair but it makes a big difference when I leave it in the backyard.. a little classier than your typical camping chair. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is around the overall comfiness of the chair. Don't get me wrong, still a comfortable chair, but it falls in a bit of an awkward spot between something you want to take a nap in and something that sits you up straight. Overall would recommend
Received this bamboo chair and have used it now for 5 days straight. Here is my summary for the pros and cons Pros: - Canvas material that you can take off easily and wash to keep clean - Sturdy, the aluminum support and bamboo poles make it feel strong and supportive, never felt it flimsy - Stylish, definitely looks cool and luxurious with the Bamboo poles Cons: - Quite bulky so not travel friendly. Definitely more a use at home for your balcony and/or terrace. Glamping is fine too but it doesn’t pack small so will be bulky to have in your car - Cost. Although I received this product for free in exchange for a honest review, not sure I would buy this product at its current price range
This chair is nice and sturdy and very comfortable! It’s not any heavier than our regular folding chairs. Once we set it up with our other chairs, anytime someone got up, they lost their seat! Keep in mind that our other chairs have shock absorbers on them and rock!
Nice design very eco-friendly. Would buy again. Hoping the slight manufactures early break down / possible defect was just a fluke. I appreciate that this chair is completely non-toxic, the bamboo wood and canvas are pure. Chemical fumes / off-gassing usually makes me feel pretty off. This chair did not cause me any health flare ups at all. It doesn't have a California prop 65 cancer awareness warning label on it. This clued me in to the fact that the manufacturing company from overseas; did a rally good job using high quality materials. Really glad they didn't spray the canvas seat cloth with fire retardant. You get what you pay for. I really appreciated the chair a lot until this minor issues. REI was cool about me doing an exchange so still four start. Maybe changing to 5 starts if the next chair last longer than just about two or three months of light use. I'm not really I heavy guy at 170 lbs. So was surprised the metal bracket broke so soon.
Comfortable and quieter than nylon, have used as a indoor chair and looking forward to overlanding with it.
This thing is so sweet. It’s clearly well engineered and built sturdily. It’s lightweight and folds up small. It’s really comfortable, too! It’s most comfortable leaning back- so it can be a bit of a weird posture if you’re sitting around a fire with other people. My only other gripe is that it’s so nice I’m afraid to really use it!
