So far so good!
I gotta' give this bag some online love after seeing the bad reviews. My wife and I bought this for a week long trip and it held tons of clothing and gear. It was really easy to wheel around and get over bumps with the bigger wheels. It encountered some pretty heavy abuse from the airline, but other than a little smearing of the logo it held up just fine.

Lacks on durability when used as checked luggage
I bought this bag specifically to use as checked bag to haul gear on flights. It didn't even survive the first trip. The outer shell was not durable enough to make it through even the first half of the journey. When I arrived at my destination, the bag had significant structural damage (including a quarter sized hole) on the top shell.

I don't usually leave bad reviews...

The bad: the material appears melted in some areas notably at the corners after just one flight. There isn't a hole yet, but I imagine it will only take another flight or two. This bag does not appear to be as durable as other quality NF products The good: the handle is smooth and it rolls like a champ. All in all would NOT buy again

Disfunctional bag - broke on first checking

I bought this bag as a checked carry on for an upcoming trip. After 1 trip the bag has a rip in it and apparently the plastic on the base has snapped as well. Worst of all, REI did NOTHING to live up to their return policy. This went on a single trip and is now ruined without being returned due to a product flaw. Very disappointed with the experience Won't be a North Face or REI customer any longer.

A Sleek Bag | But will my belongings make it?

I'm a North Face Roller Guy. I love this bag, the smooth roll. The cool Navy blue with the red handle, it stands out. The feeling I get pulling my luggage off the carousel makes me feel alive. However; the support recently broke and holes are starting to rip through the nylon after two years of use. This leaves me discouraged and worried about my belongings on their journey through the airport. Make this right North Face!

Read the reviews and buy at your own risk.

This bag rolls like a dream, great handle length for tall people, tons of space. If you want it to last more than one trip buy something else. The fabric melted from the bag belt, and there were tiny slices and tears in the corners. Used a second time and more wear through. This went back to the store. I war really bummed because I wanted to love this bag but there was no way it would last as much as I travel.

Not fit for checked baggage.

This product looks nice, but that is it. The material is super thin and melts very quickly once it comes in contact with any belts. The corner construction is not good and this bag will not hold up. After one use, I returned the bag and pointed out all of the issues to the REI staff. They agreed the bag shouldn’t melt when being used normally.

Fabric is cheaply made, not durable

Almost destroyed after two trips! Exterior fabrics melted at corners after two trips with this bag. I attempted to return in store and manager at Sawmill store said I couldn’t because it was the airlines fault, eventually allowed me to return after I filed online. A $300 bag should last longer than that.

Material does hold up well and contents drop

My husband and I each bought one of these roller bags for a 3 week trip to Europe. The size was sufficient although when standing them up, all of the contents would fall to the bottom of the bag due to the lack of rigidity of the sides. The bulging sides drove my husband crazy. In addition, the bag just didn't wear well. Luckily, we were able to return the items due to REI's customer satisfaction policy. Usually, we would never returned a used item, but this bag underperformed largely for the price.
