Nice boot but durability is questionable
First, I liked these boots quite a lot. The height made gaiters unnecessary a lot of the time, but my tall gaiters still fit over the boots for those rare cases where I did need them. They were comfy for non-hiking specific boots on longer 15+ mile hikes, which I wouldn't necessarily expect from such a tall non-hiking-specific boot. The traction on smooth ice was surprisingly good. Snowshoes stayed on securely. Fairly cute, too. They were warm but not incredibly so - they're good for activity in snow but not for standing around in it or on ice. However, they only lasted me about a year before the interior heel area was completely worn through and the fabric came away from the rubber bottom. The waterproofing was great at the beginning, but once the interiors wore through and the foot portion separated from the upper part it was negligible. I realize that these issues are the natural aging process of a boot, but I generally expect my winter boots to last 3- 5 seasons. I hoped that I'd get more than one good year plus one year holding them together with glue and wearing multiple socks to protect my heels from the exposed interiors. In conclusion, these are about everything one might want in a winter boot but they're only reliable for 1-2 winters with daily moderate-heavy use.
I"m sure they will fit someone just fine
Wasn't a good fit. Seams hit my ankle in an uncomfortable way
Seem nice but heel is too wide for my foot
Actually these boots seem pretty nice, but I tried two different sizes and couldn't get a good fit at the heel. Epic heel lift, and unable to crank the lacing down to control it. Had to return both pairs.
Love. Love. These boots. BUT
BUT. Be sure to order these good looking boots one whole size larger. ‘Twas hard to slide foot in.
