One of the best Gore-Tex jacket/hard shell you will find at this price. The 70d, 28000mm, and 3L put it up there with other manufacture shells that cost a lot more. The layout is really good, from the robust zippers to the pocket placement and size. One of the best hoods on the market, easily accommodated my climbing helmet. I use this shell for skiing, hiking, and mountaineering. If not wearing, will always be carrying in my pack just in case weather turns bad. The kidney drawcord really snugs in the jacket for a nice slim look. The two way pit zips and front zipper really help with ventilation when needed.
This is not usable for high exertion hiking. A 7 mile hike in 3-F degree weather and I was soaked with sweat, even with pits unzipped. It simply does not breathe. I think if you just want a rain jacket for short periods with low exertion it would be great. I really liked the hood adjustment, best I’ve ever seen. The wired brim keeps the visor from sagging down over your eyes. There is a midsection pull cord that is great for reducing volume of jacket. I have only good things to say about this jacket with the exception of not being breathable.
