They're our beloved hiking pants, now winterized! The soft tricot lining on the women's REI Co-op Sahara Lined pants adds warmth without inhibiting mobility, so you can keep trekking in colder months.

Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and Âľ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Love these pants!

I bought these for winter travel and they are perfect. I didn't want ski pants, but warm hiking type pants that will pack lightly and compactly. I've looked far and wide for exactly these pants and I'm happy to have found them at REI. I'm 5'2" and wear between 18w and 20w, depending on the cut. I ordered both sizes in and truly I could wear either. I'm going with the 20w as I can add a base layer if needed and it's nice to just have that little bit of extra room for movement and comfort. With hiking boots, the length is ok enough and doesn't drag on the ground. Another plus for these pants... they don't "swish" when walking. Thank you for making these great winter pants in plus sizes.

Generous, relaxed fit with a nice amount of stretch. Wore these to teach tennis in 50 degree weather and was very comfortable. Can't wait to try them in colder weather! Also loved the generously sized front pockets-I can actually carry cell phone comfortably in them. The inner fleece lining is soft and lightweight without feeling too thin. Very comfortable stretch in the back half of waistband. This allows for a better fit in waist, but also like that there is a drawcord that you can tie should you need to cinch waist in. Will be ordering a second pair! Thank you REI for making a more generously sized pant!

Warmth while walking the dog

Size may be slightly large - I'm usually a 14-16 but I didn't think I'd fit the women's XL so I went up to the 18w and they fit just fine. I have very narrow hips so there is a little extra room in the hip area. But the pants did what they say - kept me warm on a 30 degree windy day (30mph sustained winds felt more like the teens with the windchill). I was warm throughout the walk. But, I could feel the air creeping in as I was 3 minutes from returning from my 30 minute walk with the dog. For as non-bulky of a look and feel, they sure do keep you warm. They are so nice my fiance is getting me 2 more pair for Xmas. Go REI!!

Perfect Midweight Lined Pants

I was pleasantly surprised with these pants. The have a durable hiking pant exterior with a soft and warm lining. The lining is nice midweight, not puffy or bulky. It is soft on bare skin. I bought these for chilly weather night photography. I think they will be great for temps in the 30s to 50s. If colder than that I will add a wool base layer under them. I am plus size and they fit true to size. Might be short on tall women, but I am 5’5” and the length was just fine.

Nice pants, but didn't fit me.

I REALLY wanted to like these pants! The lining is super soft, the outer material is nice and overall I think they are great. However they fit really short on me. I knew they would be borderline as I usually try to order a 34 but I've had 32's work for me in the past and measuring my body says that 31 should work. But they were several inches too short. I did measure the inseam and it's an accurate 31 but somehow hang too short anyway. I really wish they cam in more length options because I'd love a pair of these for next fall/winter!
