Nice jacket but runs very large.

This jacket is absolutely huge! I am 5’7 135lbs. Small or medium mountain hardware fleeces and down jackets fit great. This jacket is jus enormous in a size small. The sleeves literally cover my hands when fully extended. It’s a bummer because it looks like a nice jacket. An xs option or more normal sizing would be great.

Avoid this one

Stay away from this jacket. I have an older (more than 5 year old) Mountain Hardwear jacket similar to this one, but I wanted a new color. I got this one and when fully zipped it comes up to my lips. It's super uncomfortable. My old one barely hits my chin, so it's 2-3 inches higher than the previous style. Also the fit is suuuuper baggy. I got a medium, and it was so big in the chest it may as well have been an XL. Idk what happened with the design of this jacket, but it's subpar.

Nice jacket but..

The jacket is nice quality but runs big, I was swimming in a medium. Went with a small but is a little tight in the shoulders.

Great ski shell and more!

My first new ski jacket in 27 years. Yup, I've been skiing with the same Northface jacket for almost 30 years. Still love that jacket but was looking for a nice shell. Love the Firefall/2. Great fit (got a medium - I'm 6'1" and 175lbs). Skied in temps ranging from 20 to 35. On the colder end, there was snow falling as well and the jacket + hood over helmet worked very well. I had a lightweight base layer + a tshirt for the first cold day which was a bit too warm and switched to just a tshirt the second cold day. For the warm days, the pit vents helped but also skied with the jacket unzipped as it gets quite warm when active. Love the versatility as well. We were in another city after skiing and it was about 55-60 degrees out with light rain and this jacket worked perfectly as a rain jacket and didn't get too warm.

Overall, great jacket - just check sizing

I've only had the jacket for a few weeks now, and have enjoyed the look/feel so far in rain/snow (gotta love east coast winters). I'm 6'2" with longer arms than most. Because of this, I've typically worn Large jackets. I went with the suggested Medium with this jacket. It fits well for length both in the sleeves and around the waist. The shoulder/pits are definitely a bit more snug than I am used to, especially when layering - but it's still fairly comfortable unless my arms are fully stretched. The zipper comes up very high, which is a great touch for those cold, windy days. The hood size is great for a helmet, but can be adjusted surprisingly well to fit my head w/o a helmet when worn as a "cold day rain jacket" Pockets are large, with plenty of water protection, as expected. Overall, great jacket. Just be sure to take in to account the sizing differences with this jacket.

exceptional jacket

I'm 6 foot 1 inch, 195 lbs and purchased a large size. I love all the features of this jacket It fits perfectly including plenty of room for extra layers in cold weather. I live in Portland which requires a winter jacket that works in rain, snow and wind. This jacket covers it all.

Too Long

This is well built, but the jacket itself is way to long and I found the collar to be uncomfortably high. When fully zipped it almost cam up to my eyes. For this reason I returned it.

Nice shell

Love the color and and the zipper that covers the chin. If a jacket is going to be that long it needs a 2-way zipper. Also to tight in the armpits.

Nice piece of gear!

Looks great. Fits well (size large) for 6ft, 190 lb person. High quality construction. Can’t wait to ski in it (purchased in July!)

Sizing is an issue.

Sleeves were the right length but other dimensions were off. Not enough room too wear an insulation garment underneath.
