Perfect Sport Shirt
The shirt arrived today, I'm already wearing it in the sun. My exposed skin is hot and getting burned, the skin under the shirt is noticeably cooler and comfortable. I'm 5' 11.5" 74kg, lanky, and a medium shirt fits well; long enough in the torso, good fit at the arm pit allowing overhead movements for climbing, not too wide at the hips though it could be a little more snug at the waist - I wish clothes came in slim and bulky so the gut area could fit more people comfortably. The blue shirt is a nice colour, the material is super light and comfortable. The collar seems to stand up and protect my neck from the sun, that'll be nice on South facing climbs and hikes.
Love the material don't like the new sizing
I work outside in the humid south and have worn the astroman shirts just about every day for the past 3 years. I ordered one of the old styles and liked it so much I ordered 4 more so I could rotate through them each week. The old style was a perfect fit for me (5'10", 145lbs) in a size small but when I ordered the new style it was too small. The sleeves were to short and them hem didn't go past my belt line. I re-order them in a medium and they fit ok but are now a little too baggy, and long in the sleeves and hem. Still love the material but wish they were still sized like the old style. I would still recommend them to a friend just with a caveat about the sizing.
Sizes are all over the place.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is a great shirt for the summer but unfortunately the sizes are very inconsistent. I initially ordered these in 4 different colours all in size large (I'm a Large in T-shirts across all brands). I could squeeze into them because of the stretch the shirts offer, but they were all too tight. The smallest shirt was the Fatigue Plaid, followed by the Naval Blue Plaid. I believe the second largest was the Slate and the Dark Sand, the largest fitting shirt. I exchanged all of them for the XLs. I found the same issue with the XLs in that they were different sizes based on the colour. I was able to keep the XL Fatigue Plaid because it was so small, but the others were far too big.
Nice shirt, Not a durable as the old ones.
I have a few of the previous Astroman shirts. The old fabric seems to be slightly more durable to heavy abrasion. Specifically talking about backpack straps and chest straps. The new shirts show pilling in those spots after a few hikes. I still like them, just have to be aware of that. The other thing that seemed better on the old shirts was the snaps. The new ones are so strong it feels like I'm about to tear the shirt when I'm undoing them.
Bad Snap Closure
Love the shirt and how it feels. Despite reviews about the snap closure issue, I bought it anyway. One of the front snaps pulled through the fabric as I was carefully removing it while trying it on for the first time. As someone else said in their review, it ruins an otherwise great shirt. A simple button would suffice instead the snaps. I'd buy it again if the snap closure issue is resolved.
I literally just threw one shirt away.
Childish? Perhaps, but I just left one in the trash can at my hotel and re-wore another shirt. I have concluded there is no way for me to make these shirts presentable for casual wear. The do not come out of the dryer wash and wear, they do not dry wrinkle free if hung wet, and the lowest iron setting that creates steam will melt them. Using a hand steamer is not exactly travel friendly. Sure, I tried the "hand it in bathroom while you shower" routine and it did nothing. So, to anyone here throwing 4 stars and up I am asking to please tell me how to get them to not look like you found it under your bed. I have two more left in my closet and they are in peril of joining the first in the garbage.
Super comfortable, the snaps are not durable
Super comfortable and breathe as well. I’ve bought five of these so far and they’re fantastic. One thing that some people might care about is that the paint or coating on the snaps comes off and chips really easily. I don’t really care about this so it’s not an issue for me, but some people that are concerned with fashion might have an issue with it.
My NICE shirt
After I take off the ECHO shirt and dive in the ocean for a wash, I out this one on. I'm either in the Echo long sleeve (all day don't all sports) or in this-period! OR has made my life living on our cat so much more cofrtable. Both my wife and I rock these all day long while guiding our guests in and around Saint Maarten
Favorite shirt
These are my favorite casual and outdoor shirts. I own several of these in most of the colors. The fabric is light and silky and with just the right stretch. They are nice and breathable for hiking but can also be worn around town or at work. The naval blue and and darker red (from circa 2021?) are my favorites and both look very sharp when paired with white pants. The current orange-red one (redrock) is not as pleasant of a color as the previous darker red. Please bring back the darker red from a few years ago! Also consider making them in more interesting/bolder colors.
Please make it in solid Naval blue!!!
My wardrobe is like half Astroman s/s shirts at this point. Please make this shirt in solid naval blue (like the l/s version)! The solid colors look way better than the plaids.
