It says the exact same color on the tag that it’s named on the jacket I had selected, but the color is way off.
The Fuego is incredibly light, which made me wonder at how warm it would be. I started wearing it out and about in sort of cool weather, and I didn't overheat, which made sense because the jacket felt so light. But then I wore it to a late, outdoor Christmas party not totally sure I would be warm enough. The Fuego was definitely up to the task. Perhaps this is the magic of down. Whatever it is, I love it, and everyone who sees it loves how it looks.
REI has an ongoing issue with this specific product’s inventory. We purchased a full zip jacket without the hoodie. The first time REI sent us a half zip item. They sent a replacement after we returned it. The second time they sent the jacket with a hoodie. Now it’s sold out and they want to give us a coupon and be done with it. How are you going to run a store if you couldn’t even label your inventory correctly??? Horrible customer service!
I was pleasantly surprised when I tried on my new jacket and did not feel like a stuffed sausage! Being 5'10" and 300+lbs I went with the XXXL in hopes that it would fit and I would still be able to breath. Fits perfect and it’s nice and warm with just a T shirt and flannel. My only complaint which is more of an observation. I wish I had slightly longer arms LOL the wrist elastic is a little too big even for my 8 1/2 wrists the sleeves are about 1 1/2" too long for me. not a deal breaker. It is very light weight. Very warm and seems to be very well made . . I look forward to testing out how well it wears
This is my first Cotopaxi item - was excited to get it because I love the vibrant multi-color paneling the brand typically uses and company mission. This jacket is great - very warm while being lightweight, not needing too much more underneath it when walking around in ~50°F weather. The fit is also very slimming. My main caveat is that the standard size I wear does not permit easy layering for when the weather dips into colder temperatures. I would need to bump up to an XL in order to accommodate thicker sweaters, and based on vest sizing, the length would be not ideal at that point. I have other jackets for colder situations, though, so for fall/early winter, this has become my go-to.
My last down jacket was an Eddie Bauer Storm Down 800 fill jacket and when I knew it was my last season I began researching other brands. After a lot of online searching, followed by some in-store fitting, I found that Cotopaxi beat the competition, hands down! Arc'terx, North Face, even some of the designer brands didn't stack up against the llama. Super light-weight, not too tight, not too loose, very warm and wind resistant, this was the perfect choice. I bought the Black/Pacific Strips 800-fill Fuego and someone complimented me the first time I wore it out. Keep making great products!
I did not receive a full zip jacket as pictured. This jacket is essentially a pullover with 1/2 zip front, and 1/2 zip on the side. The color is exactly what I ordered and looks beautiful. The label on the product received states “Fuego Down Pullover”, but there wasn’t mention of this on the site. With that said, it feels great!
Quality down jacket for serious outdoor adventures. I consider a good down jacket to be part of my essential backcountry ski gear. My Fuego down jacket functions as intended when I need it.
Nice fit , and kept me warm & dry during are recent freeze in San Antonio Tx
This is my second Cotopaxi Fuego down jacket - I already own the hooded version. Sturdy construction, great fit, and solid warmth without being overly thick. The one complaint I have is with the color - it's more like a REALLY dark blue than black. I actually had to double check my order to make sure I'd actually ordered black. If it's by itself and depending on the light, it could pass for black, but next to something that is black, you can tell it's different. That said, I still love it and wear it all the time.
