Gamma Pants failing

Can’t believe my gamma pants are literally falling to bits. . Most of the welded (not sure if that is the correct term) seams have come apart. The waistband in particular is hardly intact. Admittedly, I have had these pants for some years but they weren’t cheap!

Hello Sam, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with your Gamma AR Pants. We’re sorry to hear that the seams and waistband have begun to fail — even after years of use, we understand how disappointing it is to see a trusted piece of gear break down, especially given the investment. Seam tape can naturally weaken over long-term wear due to factors like contamination, abrasion, or repeated laundering. We recommend submitting a Product Service Request through our After‑Sales team so we can properly assess the pants and determine whether there may be a manufacturing issue. https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-service/service-request

Too tight in thighs and butt area :(

WHY are these so tight/skinny in the thigh and butt area??? I am 6’3 and fit, I bought these as a beefier version of my Gamma LT for upcoming “winter” treks in northern cal, but these are so tight that I don’t see myself being able to put a legging underneath and move freely. Sadly I will be returning these. Maybe I need to size up in the waist?? But a size 36 waist usually fits me like a glove. Larger/athletic men beware. My girlfriend said they make my butt look juicy but sadly babe these are meant to me moved around in.

Hello there, thank you for sharing your experience with the Gamma AR Pant. We’re sorry to hear the fit through the thigh and seat felt too tight. We understand how disappointing that can be, especially when you’re planning to layer and move freely on winter treks. The Gamma AR has a fitted fit, which can feel tighter for guests with an athletic build. Sizing up can be a good option for those who prefer more room in the thigh and seat or want to accommodate a base layer. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and will be shared with our internal teams, as insights like yours help guide future adjustments to fit and patterning.

Old version was better

I usually like the changes made to new versions, but I am quite disappointed in these. I bought them to replace my 2019 Gamma AR pants, which I used as my main winter pants. I can't imagine using the new version for the same purpose. The material is way thinner. And the fit is much slimmer, not great for layering underneath or fitting them over big boots. I have the regular Gamma pants in the same size and they fit way better. Not really sure what the use case is here with the new ARs. Maybe the MX is the new winter pant?

Hi Kyle, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry the updated Gamma AR Pant didn’t meet your expectations, especially as a replacement for your 2019 pair. Some of our gear does undergo revisions over time, and we understand that changes in fabric and fit can impact how the item performs. The 2025 Gamma AR Pant uses a lighter recycled nylon double weave and plain weave construction, which differs from past versions’ heavier 4-way stretch double weave with brushed tricot and microsuede. This update improves mobility and breathability but may feel less substantial in colder conditions. The trim fit is refined for climbing and mixed terrain, so if layering is important, sizing up might help. If you're looking for something closer in warmth and feel to your previous ARs, the Gamma MX Pant could be a great alternative. It features a regular fit and is constructed with a synthetic stretch softshell backed with polyester fleece, offering a superior warmth-to-weight ratio and greater insulation than the current AR. We’d be happy to help you explore options that better suit your needs. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to help you find the right pants. https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/contact

Too slim fit

1.Fit is unfortunately a Lot more slim fit. 2.Fabric is Different than the older version. I have the 2023 versiĂłn and this current new fabric is Slightly thinner and feels not so embodied. I bought 2 units to feed my needs for a long time because i wanted them for my 1st option and, sadly, when i tried, they were so slim that i had to return them. A real pity

Hello Tony, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the Gamma AR Pant. We’re sorry the updated fit and fabric didn’t meet your expectations. This style has undergone sizing revisions and material updates to enhance performance and mobility, particularly for technical movement and climbing. These changes have resulted in a more fitted silhouette, which may explain the slimmer feel you experienced. We know how important consistency is when you’ve found a go-to piece, and we’re sorry this update didn’t deliver that for you. We’d love the opportunity to help you find a style that better suits your needs. If you’d like further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out, our team would be happy to help. https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/contact

The definitive pants, at last!

This is the best pair of trousers Arc'teryx has produced to date; they are more versatile, feature a slimmer fit, and are supremely comfortable. And that’s coming from someone who owns five different models.

Questionable Shift in Fit, Quality, and Design Dir

To whom it may concern, I’m disappointed with the current version of the Gamma AR pants compared to the 2023 model. The previous iteration delivered exactly what this product promised: durable materials, excellent finishing, and a regular, functional fit suited to a serious technical pant. The current version represents a clear departure from that standard. I struggle to understand the decision to move toward a slim/skinny-style cut. This change reduces functionality and versatility, and it is also difficult to justify from a design perspective, as this silhouette has been out of fashion for several years. As a result, the pant no longer works optimally either as technical equipment or as a modern, well-designed garment. Compounding this issue, the overall build quality appears to have declined while the price has increased, which further undermines the value proposition. I would strongly recommend reassessing this direction and considering a return to the fit, materials, and construction standards of earlier versions. That approach would better align with the product’s original purpose and long-term customer expectations. Sincerely, Antonio.

Hello Antonio, thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed perspective on the updated Gamma AR Pant. We truly appreciate how familiar you are with the previous iteration and how clearly you’ve articulated where the new version isn’t meeting your expectations. We’re sorry to hear that the shift toward a slimmer silhouette and the changes in materials and construction have reduced the functionality and overall feel that made the 2023 model such a reliable technical piece for you. Feedback like yours is incredibly valuable to our design teams, especially when it highlights how updates may be impacting performance, versatility, and long‑term durability. We’ve passed your comments along to the teams responsible for the Gamma line, as insights from experienced users play an important role in shaping future iterations. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us.
