I am a hiker and bicycle rider and these pants fit those activities perfectly. Just the right amount of stretch and slim fitting. I love the Henna color and the waistband, it could be a tad wider. I am 5’6” and the legs are just long enough, I went up in size (usually an 8, size 10 fit me just fine). My daughter has the same pants, she is 5’11”, a rock climber and loves the pants but they are more capri length on her and she would prefer a bit longer.
I bought these primarily for hiking/backpacking, not climbing. I figured if they are sturdy enough for climbers they would also be good for the trail, scrambling over rocks, etc. I purchased the Wavy Blue color and it's dark enough to hide dirt but also still gives you a little punch of color. These are super comfortable with a good amount of stretch. Pockets are deep enough to hold my iPhone 11 Pro. The smooth waist band was a major factor in my decision to purchase since I will be wearing a heavy pack on multi night trips. I am 5'8 and 128 pounds, I got the size 6. I probably could have gotten away with a size 4 but I like a little extra room for comfort. The size 6 is not baggy though and I like the adjustable ankle snaps. They are actually pretty cute as well. I wore them to a backyard party to try them out and I am even considering getting another pair in a different color for everyday wear. This might sound weird but the fabric doesn't make noise either. Some tech/trails pants are so stiff they create a sound, the material on these are softish but also a nice weight.
I’m an every-day cyclist and these are perfect for cycling. There is plenty of room in the knees so you don’t feel like the pant is restrictive in any way. The snaps and taper at the end of the pant leg mean they don’t get caught on your chain. My favorite feature, apart from there not being any uncomfortable button or zipper, is that there’s actually deep back pockets for when I’m off the bike, I can put my phone back where it belongs, in my back pocket! I’m hoping that since these are made for rock climbing that the fabric is tough and won’t wear out where my thighs and butt touch the saddle- time will tell.
Unlike the other reviewers, I am NOT petite. I am 5’5” and have a smallish waist but substantial thighs and booty. AND, these fit like a dream. I got size 10 and they fit on the waist AND in the thighs…..a rarity. They have just the right amount of flex but with a durable fabric. I haven’t tried them in hot conditions, but hope they’re as cool as they say.
I recently bought these pants for a trip to Europe. I wore them for 10 days and couldn't believe that they looked barely any different at the end of the trip from when I began. They did not hold wrinkles and were a good weight for 45℉ - 60℉ temperature. The trip involved lots of city street walking with some country side hiking. The large pockets are great and I also liked the fact that they are not body hugging as most pants are. I did go up a size to avoid the waist being too snug. I would highly recommend them.
I hate pants. They are always too restricting and suffocating. But these are AMAZING. I’m 5’4” 125lb with smaller waist, wide hips, and larger calves. I have both the regular and short inseam versions, and they both work, but I slightly prefer the shorter inseam. Usually pants are too tight on my thighs and calves, especially when bending my legs, but these are perfect without being baggy and frumpy. It’s some sort of magic. They are super stretchy, but also thick enough to feel substantial. Love the cotton. Great for hot and cool weather. So so so comfortable. They are also very streamlined with no annoying drawstrings hanging, unnecessary seams, or pin tucked fabric. If they had more colors, I would wear them every day.
everything about these pants are wonderful, except the pockets. They are a slender fit, the material is heavy for cotton which is a nice change for women's pants, but the front pockets are form without function. They're so shallow that they wont even hold a set of keys. So I had to return them.
These pants are fantastic! As a person with a smaller waist/larger hips/thighs it’s hard to find climbing pants that will not slide down the waist while also feeling loose enough in the legs. These are great, feel super durable, and are so so comfortable. They are definitely worth it! The only thing is I don’t know if they will be too warm in the summer. Also! These are fairly long, as someone whose 5’7” they hit right above the ankle, probably equivalent to 7/8 length leggings which is quite exciting as I usually need to buy “tall” lengths in pants for them to be ideal. Their size is fairly equivalent to street sizing/regular pants and don’t run small like most other patagonia gear. The only big negative is the pockets are pretty useless.
Waist 27 in, hip 43 in, big thighs (every day is leg day) and size 6 fits perfectly!!!!!!! All other pants, let alone rock climbing ones won't fit! I am so so so happy I found these!
These pants are so comfortable and I love the material. The material is very resistant, dirt slides right off which is good for me because I can get dirty at work. I have some issues which are very dependent on the shape of my body. For reference, I am 5'9", 170lbs, 44" hips, and 36" waist, with a decent bum. One issue, the rise is way too high for me, they sit way above my belly button more on my waist than my hips. Second issue the ratio between the top and bottom of pants feels off. The top half feels roomy yet snug around my hips, bum, and thighs. But the calf area is a tad too tight and way too short! I am in between a size 12 and 14 and went with 14 because they were baggier at the bottom, I like that look and it's easier to climb in. But then the hip/waist is just too loose. Like I said, this is relevant to my proportions. I am going to return the 14 and try on the 12 again but I may not repurchase because the calf/ankle situation is not how I like these kinds of pants to fit and I don't want to waste $100. I wish companies would make full-length pants with more room at the calf for women!!
