The quintessential piece of protection.
While they may not be as sexy as set of Ultralight Camalots, wired Hexes size #4 to #9 are probably the most versatile easy to use and strong gear on the market today. I've been teaching trad climbing for over 40 years. Hexes, Stoppers and Tri-Cams are still the best gear to start with, you get the most bang for your buck and learn principles of anchoring that no other gear can teach you. It is relatively easy to evaluate their security, a critical and fantastic attribute for the beginner leader. When your life and limb are on the line to limit yourself to just cams and stoppers is a fools game, learn to use Hexes and Tri-Cams.
Great starter kit
I’ve used this product series many times primarily for top rope setups. While hexes have fallen out of fashion in favor of cams for lead-trad - they are a great cost effective tool for rope rope setup. BD makes SOLID products. This plus the standard “nut” kit are all you need to setup 2-3 top rope routes. It takes practice to learn how to set them, so give yourself PLENTY of time if you are new to hexes. That being said, with good placement you’ll enjoy adding this product to your collection. For the cost of 1 cam, you get 6 anchor tools (with skill required).

Great range
I am happy to finally add a full range of hexes to my lead rack. They are so versatile. I just led a climb yesterday, and slid three of these pieces into cracks already. Because of their shape, they even hold in cracks that other nuts will walk out of.

Love my hexes
Ignore the jokes about cow bells, hexes are light, secure, and cheap enough to leave behind if you need to bail. I've been using them for 50 years. They are especially useful in the alpine, as they are light and reasonable versatile.

Confident gear
Just learning to Trad climb. 3rd trip up a route. I had total confidence in the hexes. Even as a beginner at Trad, I know BD makes a quality product. Hexes are light weight and easy to work with. Thanks for a great product
Classic selection, always useful
Lost my old nut collection a while back, this set with a 'biner is the perfect set for general use. I might have preferred to sling them myself with webbing but...wire is always nice and versatile.

Pretty dang good
These hexes do their job great. I tend to carry more passive than active pro (cheaper and lighter) and these are perfect for larger sized placements that you miss out on with standard stoppers
Beautiful
Stoked to get my set in the mail. Would be nice if you could order every size at once like the stopper pro set but can’t wait to get some scratches on these!
Nut works well for trad climbing. Picture can be deceiving. Make sure to pay attention, it is only the #10 nut, not the pictured set.

Good Range
This set provides not only the high quality and craftsmanship that we expect from BD, but it also provides quite a range of sizes.
