Fun but has design flaws
This kayak is awesome! But it did come with a couple of weak looking spots that I am concerned about. I'm not thrilled as this thing costs quite a bit of money. It also requires more work to get set up and get started than you would think. The pump is great and worked both on up and down motion but having to screw things in is a pain. The tools should really come on a magnetic box so they can't fall in the water. Also do not like that you have to carry around the screws for the pedal drive…those will definitely get lost at some point. The pedal drive is nice but only has one setting which gets tiring much quicker than paddling.

I bought it for myself for Christmas because I have been such a good person this year! I had my last kayak stolen and I never thought I could replace it. The sadness followed every time I thought about the water and then I saw the Lono. Fell in love with it at first site so I got a present for myself, opened it and blew it up, put it together and now it sits in my living room waiting for the warm spring months where I can realize my dream and fish the way I want to fish again and slay the bass that are waiting for me.. Hope is in the air! Thank you Bote and Lono for keeping my fishing spirits alive!

Heavier than anticipated, but still awesome
Overall, the LONO Areo kayak is as shown and was perfect for our small family so our little kids 5yo & 3yo can both ride in it with one of us. It's pretty stable & a great addition to the paddleboard we had already. The main con is its weight and size in the bag/folded up. I wouldn't describe this as very portable since in the bag its nearly 80lbs. But my husband & I can manage it together. It's a bit difficult to get folded just right to fit in the bag but this should improve with use. We hope to get the pedal drive at some point and we see us using this for a long time to come, just had a little shock at the weight/size. I'd size down to the other smaller kayak if the pedal drive isn't of interest.
Heavy, Bulky, Inconvenient, Sturdy
I don't have a lot of great things to say about this kayak other than it's built like a tank and can probably withstand any beating you throw at it. Unfortunately the trade off is a 70lb inflatable kayak, that is nearly impossible to carry from your car to the water and back without a friend who is going to end up being upset that you just made them help you carry it. The rolling bag is floppy and doesn't stay upright while navigating any kind of rough trail. It doesn't stop there either, it's nearly impossible to fold and repack it into the case once you get it out.
Lono is AWESOME!
Great customer service and product. Love being able to deflate a kayak and store it easily. My only request is to have the lono with an integrated standardized system to hang/attach rod holders at your hand position while sitting. This would allow something to hold the rod while trolling and pedaling. I have made a custom system to allow rod attachment near the rudder/steering system. Also a taller chair that does provides better back support and stronger straps to account for great weight and positions.
Questionable quality
First week, lots of fun, boat works well, stable, but inside buckle broke, added the peddle drive system, they work very well lots more fun, but zipper and two straps on the carry bag fell off This and sloppy glue on the seems make me question the quantity and longevity of your boats? Also the seat back adjustment straps need a better locking buckle. For the cost, quality could be much better, then the boat and peddle drive system would be a complete winner.
Absolutely Wonderful
I am in love with my new LONO Aero inflatable kayak. Extremely easy to assemble and inflate. Has an incredibly sharp look, and nearly everyone who sees me use it asks about it! I will say that folding it and trying to pack it back in the bag is extremely difficult, sweat inducing, infuriating, and probably will never be as easy as the videos demonstrate or fit effectively as it came. The bag it comes in is nice, but the wheels are not intelligently placed as it forces you to lean the bag pretty near upright in order to actually wheel it around, and since it is on the heavier side it is very taxing on the shoulders/arms. However, it still packs up rather small making it amazing for traveling purposes. Despite the uneasiness in repacking it, I would 1000% suggest this to literally everyone interested. It is phenomenally engineered, sleek, and an extremely fun!!!!
Great for husband, not so much for wife
I bought this boat to get a more full body workout on the lake, but it's really too big for me to comfortably use or move around. It's no small feat to blow everything up and is way heavier than a regular kayak, so we opt to leave it out in the shade all the time which is not recommended so ...I hope it lasts. My husband tried it out and loves it. He used to never go kayaking with me, and now he wants to go out for a pedal while I paddle more often, so all good in the end. I give it 3 stars because of how heavy it is and how it's definitely made for tall skinny people. I had saved up for this, had really high hopes, so it was an expensive letdown for me. For me a 5'2” fat lady, not a good fit. Hubs gives it 5 stars. He's a big guy, really has no issues with it, and he cruises around in it pretty fast and easy. I really wish they made a smaller, lighter 10 ft version for short people.
Poor quality and support
From day one I've had problems and Bote says it's normal for pieces to separate or a leak can be fixed with repair kit. If this happened after use I would understand. But this was right out of the box!! Bad quality and even worse support. Compared to the other sup boards I have Bote is inferior in every way. Frustrated bcs I bought this thinking I was buying the best.
