Times Were Tough...
Back in the olden days we didn't have Bluetooth battery-powered firepits. It was rough. You had to stir your fire with a stick to keep it going. A STICK. Sometimes that stick would itself light on fire, creating an additional hazard. Thank god for modern times. You kids today don't know how good you have it.

great while it works
This smokefree fire pit is amazing and living out west makes a fire pit safer with less fly away embers. that is while it works after just under two years the battery failed.. biolite offered a 10coupon due to being out of warranty. they said they dont sell replacement batteries either.. so this is a huge pice of trash for the land fill... thankfully I'm not helpless. a replacement battery can be found online. 21 philips screws to get it done. very easy to do but I will forever review ever fire pit I can and tell everyone that will listen to never buy from biolite in the future. there are better options that care more about the enviroment and their customer.

Sadly disappointed...We did not even get to use it

We reallllly wanted this fire pit... We wanted it so badly that we tried three times to get the fire pit+, but every time we got one it had manufacturers defects. The protective coat finish inside the fire pit was never completely sprayed on the fire pit. Which was sad, because at first we thought it could just be a fluke, so we gave it a second try and once again the fire pit lacked a good protective coat. So we tried one more time... and sadly the same problem. After the third try, we knew it was not worth the money and the struggle. REI had great customer service through all of this. It’s honestly a problem with the fire pit + itself and it just may have been a problem in the manufacturing side. Be cautious when buying, because it seems like Biolite’s quality control may be missing these obvious mistakes.

Not as good as the camp stove. Poor QC

I really wanted to love this like the camp stove, but not even close. Smokes like a chimney when burning pine. Sparks through the underbody making a fire mat a requirement. Arrived bent and noisy as heck with the fan on. The fan isn’t noisy, but it vibrates the whole fire pit like crazy ruining the mood for me and the mrs.

Overall Gets the Job Done

I have been using this firepit for a few months now and compared to other reviews, I feel that my usage of the firepit has been on the rougher side. This firepit can withstand some heat! After a few uses the vent on the battery has melted a little and the cage is bowing and getting dented but I feel like this is expected when using any firepit. You don't need to set that battery on high, just using it on the lowest setting is enough to feed the fire. After a while, there is a little smoke due to the chamber getting filled with ash. Recommend some welding gloves to grab the handle to shake all of the ash out of the bottom while the fire is going.

Firepit plus

Our Biolite Firepit+ was exactly what we expected and performed extremely well. Oddly, the fan is louder on videos than it is in real life.

Poor workmanship

Item arrived today. The cat iron skillet seemed solid, though needs seasoning. The cover fit well but judging by the thin metal and poor welding I'm suspicious as to its longevity. The main item, however, has several defects without any damages to the packaging - which was most excellent btw. The enamel, clearly not applied evenly, is actually explained away in an insert stating that this is to be expected "if found". I think I would have accepted this even but the dents simply communicate that this item was sent despite being of poor quality.

10 uses so far

have used this pit about 10 times so far both small fires and larger ones... when I first started using it I realized there was a learning curve. going to max air flow is rarely necessary. most times now I am only using the fan at low or medium. that being said I'm very happy with this pit. once u have an established fire, it nearly smoke free. let's keep in mind its a fire and fire and smoke generally go hand in hand... the xray vision is truly wonderful. that along with the forced air is what really sets this pit apart from others. so far very happy and hope for years of use depending on recharchable battery life. one improvement or accessory I would like to see is some type of metal box lid with a handle that is able to snuff the fire out for the times where u cannot wait around for all the embers to safely burn out. In the meantime I will be looking to fabricate such a cover to suit my purpose.

My new favorite thing!!!

Love it!!!! My only issue is that the fan and the airflow caused a lot of ash to blow up into the air. Cooked our first meal On it and loved it! Feel free to send discount codes I think I have sold 10 Unuts for you!!

We're really sorry that you've been disappointed with the FirePit+. Due to the enamel application process during manufacturing, this sort of variation in appearance is actually normal and expected. We agree that the variance in the coating doesn't always look the best, but we want you to know that your FirePit+ burn chamber is still fully protected and meets performance requirements for burn testing. We also recognize how frustrating this experience has been for you and we're here to help -- if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
