Coleman gear user since 1972
I recently bought the Dual Fuel lantern & it is great, so the new version of the former Sportster stove will be a great add to my canoe trips.
Great for backpacking
I have 2 of these in backpacking! Works great with white or regular gas.
Wish it worked better, but it does not.
On the positive side, this stove boils water faster than any other compact stove that I have used. On the downside, it is very poor quality compared to the Peak 1 stoves that this is based on. The Peak 1 versions had a great regulator that never failed and never flared up with the yellow flames like this version. The Peak 1 valve gave honest high/low options and this one is basically on or off - or perhaps more reasonably blue flame or flared up yellow scorching your pan. I really wish that this were the quality product that it used to be. It is not. One quadrant of mine stopped working, the stove flared up all the time, etc. Just a disappointment for me and a disgrace for Coleman. Pretty much the only choice left is an MSR stove.
Perfect companion to my two burner stove
I purchased this stove as a companion to my two burner stove. For trips when it’s just me heading out. It is a great stove and with some care it will last a lifetime. It’s strengths are that I already use Naphtha gas in other Coleman stoves and lanterns so I have a common fuel between them all. It’s tough for days when I toss it into a pack in the back of the pickup. It heats a pot up fast and a single tank will get you through a weekend with no problem. It’s not ultralight so if you are counting ounces this is not that stove. But in my opinion the extra weight it worth it for a durable light every time without fail stove.
Well-made!
I recently purchased this stove, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The flame control is smooth and precise, allowing for easy adjustments depending on the type of cooking I’m doing. The burner itself is lightweight, yet sturdy, making it ideal for both home and outdoor use. It ignites quickly and distributes heat evenly, which is essential for consistent cooking. One of the things I appreciate the most is its efficiency; it heats up fast and doesn’t seem to use up too much fuel. Whether I’m simmering a sauce or boiling water, it performs perfectly every time. Plus, it’s compact enough to take along on camping trips without adding too much weight to my pack. In short, this gas burner is well-made, reliable, and a must-have for anyone who values convenience and quality in their cooking gear.

Coleman Duel Fuel 533
Very satisfied with this product's functionality. Found flame adjustment from low to high was not difficult as some reviews suggested. Lever positioning vs flame intensity was not linear throughout the range but this is not an impediment. This product is very well made. The tank/base does not become hot to handle. Coleman fuel is an excellent value in terms of cost vs burn time. This product is easy to use and instructions are clear and easy to learn and remember. Flame range accommodates needs from quickly boiling water to gently reheating leftovers. I have not attempted using this with a significant wind.
Perfect for overlanding
I am highly impressed by the quality and craftsmanship of this stove. I love that I can use unleaded gasoline because this gives me greater flexibility on long excursions to remote places. I use this outside my Jeep camper and love having one single fuel. The stove functions very well and I can boil water for a cup of tea in 2 minutes flat on the medium setting. I use a GSI outdoors 2 liter collapsible pot, which fits the stove perfectly.
Great stove so far.
So far so good. I’ve burned roughly 2 tanks of fuel through this stove so far and it has been flawless. I’ve used only Coleman fuel so far but like the ability to use gasoline if needed. One of the major criticisms about this stove is that you cannot turn it down to a low flame without experiencing problems. I do not have that issue with mine.
The cutest ever
The cutest ever. Easy to operate and practucal. Last a long time on a tank of gasoline and pumps. Portable - I can take it anywhere. Now, I have to test it for longevity and find oit how durable this stove is.
Classic quality
Awesome, classic stove. Great for boating or as a 3rd burner when using another Coleman stove. Difficult to find over the past few years so grab one when you can.
