Strange fit disappointing

I have bought a fair number of Smartwool tops over the years, and love them all. I always buy Mediums, and they always fit just right. This one looked and felt great, until I put it on, and I could tell right away that something was amiss regarding the fit. It was as if it were made for someone whose chest was twice as big as their torso, and they had very short arms, or as if the sleeves were attached in the wrong place. When I raised my arms or even just extended them, I looked like a flying squirrel, and I could feel the fabric pulling and stretching uncomfortably. I returned it immediately.

Supremely Comfortable and Warm

A surprisingly warm base layer in comparison to the previous version of this. Fits great, feels a little coarser than what you'd expect at first but quickly becomes a dream next to your skin. The only wild card will be durability, we will see. So far I love it though.

wanted to love it, sizing is way off!

i was eagerly awaiting this product, purchased a medium as soon as REI had them in stock, the garmet appeared to be the usual good quality smartwool product i've come to expect( have purchased over 50+ SW items over the years( I have had only 2 items I was disappointed with, ex: sweater that unraveled the first time I washed it, and I follow the handling directions, only time this has happened, I had it in my cedar chest for a year before I added it to my rotation, so no love from REI(that SUCKS, liked the old ploicy better, boo on the abusers and REI for punishing everyone))unfortunately the medium fit like an over-sized large, small was no longer in stock and because REI's discount system is lame, I would not have been able to use my one item discount anyhow, sad.

My new go-to warm top whether for work or for play

Excellent fit, extremely warm and breathable, and very soft fabric! This has immediately become my new go-to top, whether it's for work or for play! I am usually a size 38 or 40-short in men's jackets and the small fits perfectly (but I wanted it to be a bit snug).
