Great light sleeping pad
Packs small and amazingly comfortable for how thick it is. Didn't get hot or cold on it.

Sad to say this is the worst Closed Cell mat ever.
I have had many closed cell mats in my travels I still carry a Nemo-Switchback and Therm-a-rest-Z Lite which work beyond great. I bought this 60% Sugar Cane Twistercane mat hoping it would be amazing since it's a Big Agnes Product. I was beyond wrong. Not only is it beyond uncomfortable it also slides around in my tent making me feel like I'm sleeping in a Slip N Slide.

Simple lightweight pad for a young scout

I tried this pad for a few nights and would rate it as just adequate for a 200lb plus adult. I sleep much more comfortable on an inflatable pad. With that said, my 11-year old daughter has tried the pad and it may be a perfect fit for her. The simplicity of a closed cell foam pad allows her to be completely independent when camping with her scout troop. With the addition of an elastic strap (not sure why BA doesn't include one with the pad), she can carry her pad to camp, setup easily, and pack up quickly without struggling like she does with an inflatable pad. She slept well on the pad and found it to be adequately comfortable.

Wherever You May Foam

Last year, on a winter backpacking trip where temperatures dropped into the teens, I used my insulated Air Core Ultra mattress by itself. Unfortunately, I could feel the cold creep in underneath me a little more than expected. This year, after adding the TwisterCain Bio Foam to my kit, the problem was fixed. I should also add that on this year's trip, temperatures dropped below zero and I was still comfortable and insulated from the ground. For anyone going to ground in freezing temperatures, the TwisterCane Bio Foam is a smart investment. Also, the regular size incorporates nicely into the Big Agnes sleep system sleeve, which keeps the mattress and pad together while you sleep.

TwisterCane Bio Foam Sleeping Pas

I have used this pad a few times while camping and hiking. The pad is extremely narrow so if you have 20“ shoulders or higher, you will not fit on this pad comfortably. I tried paring this with an inflatable pad to add cushion and insulation and it appears to kind of work but it creates more of a drop off which can cause you to roll off. I ended up cutting the pad into pieces and created camping seats out of it. So points for creativity. Overall I would only recommend this product to campers with slimmer shoulders. Or if you intend to cut it into smaller pieces for a sitting pad.

Too delicate

The mat is unfortunately too delicate. Mine has only been used for 10 minutes of daily breathing exercises indoors so far and it had started too delaminate. I am expecting to leave a trail of foam debris once I actually take it outside. Not recommended.

Another great product from Big Agnes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got the twistercane bio foam sleeping pad a while back and have used it a number of times now and it is simply great!! Keeps you so warm at night and is super lightweight. I've normally been someone to use an inflatable pad, but camping with two small kids has proven fatal for a number of our inflatable pads. Our kids can be as rough and rugged as they want in the tent and with these pads and I know I'll still get a great and warm night sleep. Just another great product from Big Agnes!!! Our family has loved everything we've tried from BA! #sweepstakes

Nice lightweight pad

After my inflatable pad got a hole, I’ve been looking for a foam replacement. This one is a good contender. It protects me from roots and sticks and is lightweight. Unfortunately, it doesn’t roll up very tightly, so it’s a bulky addition to my pack. The foam is pretty solid, so it doesn’t have as much squish as I’d prefer. I’m hoping that a few more uses will soften it up. Overall, a great pad for the price and something to keep me comfortable until I find one I like better.

Overall impressed with this new foam pad from Big Agnes. Hiked with this pad on the outside of my pack and noticed 2-3 spots where foam was nicked from catching on tree limbs. The pad did a great job at protecting my air pad from ground and installing from the cold. Only complaint is, the pad doesn't come with a strap to keep rolled during transport. Although it is easy to cut a piece of paracord .
