Topo Designs  Dirt Shorts - Men's

These are well-made shorts. They're soft and comfortable, pretty light but not cheap feeling. I like the blue color. The hidden zipper pocket in the back right pocket is a neat touch. I like the elastic waistband and drawstring. It also has a crotch flap opening, held closed by a few buttons, which I'm ambivalent about (typically just pull down elastic waisted shorts for #1s, but doesnt hurt to have the option). I only wish I knew the inseam before purchasing. I am 6 foot, 150 lbs. I got a medium, and the inseam from the leg opening to the center is about 6.5 inches. For my taste, that's a tad shorter than I prefer, but if that's up your alley, you'll probably love them. Maybe they'll grow on me, we'll see.

These are pretty good shorts. They're comfortable, the fit is good, and the material seems high quality. I'm 5'8", I ordered a medium, and the length comes to just above my knee, which I consider ideal. My only complaint, and the reason I took off a star, is that instead of a zipper for the fly it has buttons. It's annoying to mess with buttons when you have to go, a zipper would have been so much better. I still recommend these shorts and will be wearing them for much of the summer.

I purchased these a couple of weeks ago and have not stopped wearing them. I pretty much live in the dirt pants and when I saw these I knew I would love these too, especially for summer. They're *chef's kiss* perfect. Also, the pockets! I love them, they're so deep and there are so many! I'm a female and usually wear a Medium in Topo women's, but a size Small fits perfectly. (I purchased the men's size because I only wear black and they don't make the dirt shorts for women's in black - I have absolutely no idea why, it's crazy to me) Get these, you will not regret it!

I loved these shorts they have that perfect amount of stretch that lets you take those big steps on the trail without being restrained or having the hem of the short dig into your thigh. The only reason it didnt get 5 stars was fit. The fits not horrible, but its not great for those of us with bigger legs.

Great all around shorts. Super functional, but still very stylish! Awesome secret inner back pocket perfect for phone or wallet for a little extra security. Cotton with a little bit of stretch. You could wear these to the park on a Sunday for a beers with the squad or back packing for a weekend in Yosemite. The contrasting draw cord is a nice touch and is totally in right now. In conclusion great comfy all around shorts that you can wear for being active or just going to the park or beach!

Very good shorts. They felt a little snug when I first put them on, but they've got a bit of stretch and felt plenty comfortable a couple hours in, glad I gave them time. Super easy to move in, mid-weight fabric but feels very light when you're walking around, nice and cool, just a little bit longer than perfect (if you ask me). I've worn them three out of the four days since I got them, for whatever that's worth. Big fan so far, ready for a second pair.

The fit is spot on, not too long and not too short for everyday casual use. These are great for climbing in and the drawstring closure is much easier to deal with than a belt. Good for running, and I appreciate the zippered rear pocket for stashing my house key. I see these getting a lot of mileage this spring and summer at hot crags, day hikes, and before and after cycling. Overall a solid do most anything pair of shorts.

At first glance, I didn’t expect to like these. After wearing them for a while, I keep reaching for them over the other shorts I own. The fabric is very soft, pocketing is well done and quality is top notch. Only not pick is that it’s difficult to keep the waist tight with the drawstring when doing more active activities.

After a couple weeks with these shorts, I have come away very happy.These shorts are extremely comfortable and they look great. While they could be used for hiking, I don't think these should be considered for athletic wear. But for a day at the park or running errands around town, these shorts would be a great choice.

I instantly fell in love with these shorts. Fit, length, weight of the shorts...all perfect! Looks just as good as any chino short but WAAYYY more breathable. I appreciate the hidden zipper pocket and that the shorts do not easily wrinkle (even after sitting in the dyer for about a day).
