No way to secure straps? No go.
While this little pack is comfortable and I like the compartments, the straps flail and flap around while I’m running. I’ve tried tucking them or knotting them, but that makes the pack harder to remove. I opted to return and the search continues.
Great running belt/great value
I finally needed a replacement for my SPI belt. So many options to choose from. After reading a lot of on-line reviews, I visited the nearby REI and chose this Nathan belt. So glad I did! I wore it yesterday for my first race since the pandemic. Love the feel (like you don't know it's there), the two zippered pockets, and the bib holder. I don't use it to carry my phone, so I can't speak to the belt's ability to handle size, weight, etc., but it works well for everything I need.
The straps are difficult
I like the two separate pockets but I find the straps difficult to keep tight and keep in place. They're way too long and get in the way, and I find I have to cinch it super tight to keep it from riding up. Personally, I also don't like the attachments for a race number - I find them annoying. I wouldn't buy another one.
Expected better
My last Nathan belt lasted close to 8 years and the elastic finally stretched out. I bought this on as a replacement and am very disappointed. The size adjustment does not hold. As I run the belt gets larger and larger to the point it is bouncing and very annoying. I am considering sewing the belt at the size I need. Maybe I can find another solution to hold its size. For a new product for what is supposed to be geared towards running accessories I was very disappointed.
No good for me.
So disappointed with this belt. I liked the idea of the two pockets. The key holder is in the wrong pocket, the large one! When running and the belt has my iPhone and keys in it, the belt loosens. Also, I am slim so have to keep tugging to tighten the belt and there’s a lot of excess belt for me which I have to tuck in. The race bib holders get in the way and my husband has said remove them and cut the belt. Not recommended.
Good Design intentions
Pros: slender, compact. Cons: plastic clip ons tangle and crack easily. Zipper life iffy. Straps tangle from adjustments on a regular.
Good belt, not great
The size of the phone pocket is perfect, it's a good belt that does the job. However, it is difficult to get tight enough and occasionally loosens as my runs go on. Takes a little bit of getting used to after using a Flip Belt that doesn't bounce around at all.
Nathan Dual pocket running belt.
I love the Nathan Mirage Pack. My phone fits perfectly in the larger pocket and my key and cash for in the smaller one. No more losing my cash, license or keys when taking my phone out for checking those very important kids texts when out on my run.
Phone case for active wear
Almost impossible to secure so that phone does not hurt back while running. Two zippers for phone and keys may be OK when walking, but complicated to tighten elastic waistband.
Great belt!
This pack has excellent storage space. I really appreciate the second pocket so I can keep my (possibly sticky) nutrition scratchy keys away from my phone, the race bib clips are nice touch. It can be a little tricky to align and you have to really tighten it up to stop your phone from bouncing, but once you adjust the straps correctly it works very well.
