Excellent Deal on "Package" Ski
Make no mistake - these are EXACTLY the skis that are used as rentals at literally dozens of hills across the country, particularly East Coast. That being said, for the discounted (stock depleted) price, these are a good deal. They come with the binding bed already installed for the paired binding(s) which should be good for a child up to about 120lbs with a moderate/intermediate ability. Installation of the binding(s) and brake, and setting the DIN value is quick and easy. I purchased three (3) sets in 116, 122 & 128 for my two young skiers to grow into. When they outgrow them I can just resell or give them to someone else who needs a simple, easy ski.
missing bindings!
ski looks great, but I now have 3 sets of them, none that were shipped with the bindings. REI staff is always friendly and helpful and ships a new set out right away, but even after a manual inspection of the item prior to shipping request, the skis were still sent with no bindings. Was hoping not to have to pay to buy skis and still pay to rent for an upcoming trip but alas no such luck. I give up after 2 failed attempts to correct the original incorrect shipment.
Not as expected
We purchased these for my son's birthday about 2 weeks ago because he needs longer ski's and these "said" they came with bindings. When they came in they were missing half of the bindings. We called REI they had us ship them back and they were going to ship out the correct item expedited so it would arrive just in time for my son's birthday, well here we are the eve of his birthday and we still have the wrong item. Guess he can't use his new ski's this weekend.... Thanks REI....
Quick and easy
My eager seven-year-old loves them, she is starting to ski jump and use them at a chairlift hill on the slope and in some terrain trees. REI mounted them quickly and they appear to be popping off at the right times.
Great first set of skis for kids
Bought these for my kids about a month ago. Setup was easy to do at home and they have already skied about 12 hours on them without any issue. The bindings are highly adjustable to as my kids move up in boot sizes they should be able to get a few seasons out of these.
