Very versatile and comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am an active 64 year old with ample bootie and larger upper thighs and shorter legs. Typically wear a size 12. The large in this short fit me perfectly. The leg / seat area is ample enough to accommodate my lower body assets and they don't ride up when walking. Material is such that it moves with you so you can sit comfortably and stretch out without the fabric becoming constricting. Pockets are average size and lay flat. I bought the black (typical for me) and they slim me down whether viewing from the front or back. I can see myself wearing these for hiking, Pickleball, or to a family picnic.
A let down…
I got the floral pattern of these shorts because they were comfortable and fit great, however after only wearing them one time, the material started to pill, otherwise known as the tiny knots or balls that form when short or broken pieces of fabric get tangled up together. For the price I paid for these shorts and considering it’s a North Face piece, I expected much better from the material it’s made from.
My new favorite shorts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love how these shorts stretch with you without totally bagging out. Just a slight give after wearing and they don't ride up when walking. These are my hiking, picnic, Pickle ball wearing shorts. Good for everything. Two side pockets that are generous enough to hold my iPhone 13. Back zipper pocket is nice too. Pockets lay nice and cut doesslim you. I am 5'7, 64 years old with ample upper thighs and backside. The L fit me perfectly. Did look to purchase a second pair, but I wasn't overly fond of the other colors. I bought black initially.
Perfect paddling shorts
These shorts are everything I'd hoped they'd be! They're soft and stretchy and just the right length (i.e. still appropriate for work). As a kayak/SUP guide, I really needed another pair of quick-drying, high-performing shorts for the summer and these really nailed it. I especially like the mesh-lined pockets and the zipper pocket in the back. As a bonus, they are also really great to take on the trails!
Mushroom Shorts
When I saw these shorts in the store it was still pretty cold out (March!) but I bought them anyway because I knew I had to have them. The print alone sold me. But the fit of the shorts is great! I have already worn them a few times now and they're comfortable and not restricting on my legs at all which can happen with some shorts. Looking forward to bringing them to the beach and camping.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this enough to buy 3 pairs! I live in these shorts. They're the perfect "all purpose" shorts. I use them when cleaning my house as they're bleach proof, I use them for workouts, I use them for running errands. I want one for everyday of the week! For reference, I'm 5'9", 137lbs and I bought a medium. I could've gone with the small but I prefer a slightly relaxed fit.
New favorite shorts
These are my favorite pair of shorts. They don't have a liner which really helps keep down the chafing, and the longer inseam is really nice for my thighs without being too long and starting to look "old lady". Unfortunately the newest 2023 version has a terrible waistband and bunches up but if you can find the slightly older version on Re/Supply, get them!
The perfect pair of shorts!

They dry so quickly, and are great for hiking or just taking your kids to the splash pad (I've also dressed them up for lunch dates!). If you also suffer from chub rub, these are at the perfect length to protect your thighs and the fabric is structured enough to keep them from riding up. 10/10 recommend.
All time favorite shorts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shorts are so cute and so comfortable. They wash and dry perfectly. They are performance fabric but have clean, classic styling so they don't just look sporty and super casual. I'm between sizes so I bought three pairs in large for this year, and several pairs in medium for next year. Now I just need TNF to bring back the jogger version of these!
