Comfortable but not as pictured

Pros: Comfortable and soft. True to size in waist. Cons: Inseam is a little long for my height (5'5"). If you're hoping for a straight leg pant, these are not it! Mine look like bell bottoms and will need to be altered so they can be worn for backcountry field work. Also, the pockets are so small that they are not functional.

What is with the POCKETS?

These pants are comfortable and fit well. That's great. But like most women's pants, they HAVE NO USEABLE FRONT POCKETS, and the back pockets are only marginally usable. As in: I cannot put a SMALL men's wallet in either of the front pockets because they do not extend down far enough to secure the wallet. It's not like you might want ID on your person somewhere when outdoors. At this price point, you would think that companies would spend a few cents on adding material enough to make the front pockets useful, and the back pockets fully useful. My wallet pops out the front, and my phone FELL from the back pockets. it's time that women started saying something about this and stop accepting this as "how women's pants are." Mady of us no longer want to carry purses, and WHO WOULD CARRY A PURSE WHEN USING THESE PANTS FOR THEIR INTENDED USE?????

But then!

These pants are the best, super lightweight & breathable but they’ll keep you warm & dry. I tested them out in the Hoh rainforest on 2/1/21 and they kept me dry and warm. I do with the pockets were deeper but I’ve come to expect this with women’s pants.

Awesome Pants!

This is my second pair of these pants, and only because I wanted another color, not because anything was wrong with them. I've put on countless miles in my first pair and the ONLY sign of wear and tear is a small hole from an ember. We've done a lot of shed antler hunting in these where it's miles and miles of rough sage brush. These pants haven't snagged even once! They are a little pricy, but well worth how much use I've gotten out of them!

Pockets need improvement

Ok. So I have 3 pairs of these. They are the best I’ve found for outdoor work in the summer where you can’t wear shorts. But I have major complaints on the pocket situation. I wish that Prana would make these with two drop-in style cargo pockets, one on each leg. I’ve dropped my phone twice in a wetland after forgetting to close the side zip pocket after photographing plants for work. A drop-in style would prevent this little accident. And having another pocket for my chapstick and jets would be incredibly handy. Those things would just fall out of the front slash pockets. Please, Prana, use this fabric and cut but add better pockets for us gals!!!

Shallow pockets and baggier than in photograph

I bought two of these when they were a Deal of the Day recently. Too many people were raving about how comfortable the pants are. Well, the pants ARE comfy, but they are baggy everywhere. Luckily the drawstring keeps these pants well-fitted around the waist. The low waist also causes the pants to sag in the back; not nice when out boulder hopping. I normally wear a size 8. I could have gotten these in size 6. Also, both front and back pockets are too shallow. Not even my small smartphone is secure. The one thigh pocket is too small for the cellphone.

Nice pants, but liked prior years better

I have purchased versions of these pants for many years from Prana because they have been such great pants in the past....Unfortunately, the older versions I liked much better and they have lasted much longer. One reason is the pockets are too small now! Secondly, the two buttons now used, do not hold up remotely as well as the metal closure that used to be used. (When hiking, climbing, etc ..... you don't want to worry about sewing on a button.) I have had the older version of these pants for 10 + years with no issues. These newer pants have already had snaps break after a year.

My favorite all-around hiking pants

I love these so much I have 4 pair. I hike 5 days a week so I need comfortable and durable clothes. These awesome pants are water repellant, don't catch on most pointy things, are lightweight but not thin. I put a base layer or two under them and they're great in winter. The generous color palette has me looking cute, too. Most of the colors help hide mud/dirt. I am 5'3", 108-lbs and buy 0 short. The length is about perfect! I believe these run a bit big because even the 0 is loose after a couple hours of wear. I have a small waist and the inner drawstring is supposed to address this but to me doesn't solve the problem sufficiently. I wear a waist pack so rarely use the pockets but yes, they are shallow.

Functionally useless pockets

My boyfriend was raving about the mens version of these pants so I decided to bite the bullet and bought a pair. Pockets are uselessly small! In outdoor attire! What’s the point in even including pockets at this point if you can’t fit your hands let alone your phone. Honestly feels like a slap in the face considering the mens version of the pants has a pocket that spans across the entire thigh. The only reason I’m not giving one star is because they’re comfortable enough to wear as long as you plan on bringing a bag to carry anything larger than a small leaf.

Not very durable

So, on the plus side these pants are really cute and comfy and the pockets are really convenient. however, I've had them for about a year and they aren't holding up well. I thought PrAna was a better quality brand than this. The thighs started pilling after a couple bike rides, and now there's a hole forming on one of the knees. I haven't even been wearing them for any super intensive activities, and the past couple months I haven't worn them much at all since I'm trying to make them last. Also, both the buttons came off and it was not from me getting bigger. Unfortunately, this just isn't the quality you might expect.
