I have different chairs to fit the right outdoor activity and this chair is my favorite chair for the lake or the river…I can put it on the shore, literally on the water where I can keep my feet in the water but not so low to the grounds where my body is submerged in the water. It’s perfect to sit and relax on a sunny day!!!
This chair is meh. It is low to the ground, which I knew from the dimensions, but because it has a natural lean back to it, it is a little hard to get out of. Because it has the lean back, my back hits the back cross bars and makes it uncomfortable over time. Also, the back isn’t high enough in my opinion. Because you have to lean back into the chair, your head doesn’t get a natural resting point. The back stops right at my shoulders and I’m an average 5’7”. Definitely not a comfortable lounge (“Getaway”) chair. The insulated zipper pouch is pointless, just give me another cup holder. I did not have a problem putting it back into the carrying bag. I also liked that you could wear the chair in the bag as a backpack. This chair is going back to the store and I continue to find a replacement for my Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair which is the best chair despite having faulty nylon edging issues.
Good Chair. Have had it for 5+ years and it's still holding up fine. We car camp 3 to 4 times a year. Also use them at Little league games, soccer, etc. throughout the year. The cooler pocket never gets used and makes it a little more difficult to stuff in it's sack. Novel idea but I wish it wasn't there.
I am renewing my supply of camp chairs and picked this one as one of three purchases. It is easy to set up and put away, and more importantly it is comfortable. Construction seems sturdy.
1 Star to REI. They chair might be okay. I don't like how short it is when I received it and tried it out. There should be a picture of someone using the chair in the website listing. +1 star for free and fast shipping, and it seems to be a really nice chair otherwise. But -1 (back to 1 total) because I realized they gave me 24% off so they could call it a "closeout" and not accept returns. Shame. I also thought I ordered a different color but everything in my order email and account says black, maybe I was mistaken.
Just purchased our second set of these after our first set probably over ten years ago. They hold up well. The collapsing can get a little sticky over time though but still worth the comfort. We enjoy the lower seating position to give a relaxed feel for the beach as well as star gazing at night. The cooler pocket is great for holding snacks, phone, book, etc.
I’ve had this for 7+ years and it’s still good as new. I find this completely comfortable—have sat in it for hours at a time without complaint. Like that I can lean back in it and watch the stars and that the insulated pouch also doubles as a book/sandwich/snack holder.
These are actually pretty sturdy chairs and might be decent for car camping…the seat is very low, whih makes it hard to get up…and, as the arms are fabric there isn’t much support for getting out of the chair. Other than that, they are nicely made.
