Simple to use, Easy to remove
I don't always want to ride with pannier bags and sometimes I need a way to carry things flat on my rack without crushing it with bungie cords. This is an almost perfect solution. The wooden crate is wide enough to accommodate a variety of items and it is not too tall that it makes getting on and off the bike awkward. This does limit the amount of things that can be carried inside the crate, so definitely not for big trips to the grocery store. But it is perfect for most carryout food orders with the exception of pizza, unless it is a small or medium size pizza. The wood does have a rough finish which does make me wonder how well it will hold up in the rain. They claim the wooden crate is water sealed but then again if it is raining, I am using my panniers. The wooden crate feels pretty secure on my rear rack although I can definitely hear it rattling when I am riding. Surprisingly, the wooden crate doesn't seem to add a lot of wind drag when I ride despite the fact it is fairly wide and it doesn't feel too heavy either. It would have been nice if there were holes in the side for hooking a bungie net over the top of the crate but I figured out solution that seems to work well enough.
Excellent Crate
This crate is handsome, sturdy, and has a very large capacity. I was able to fit close to $100 in groceries in it on a recent run. The MIK attachment is a breeze to remove and secure, it doesn't wobble or rattle at all (even on gravel rail trail paths). I get compliments on it it is so good looking. Frankly, i dont know if i could break this thing if I tried. It's almost a bespoke quality. It also appears to be very well sealed and varnished. This is the kind of thing that can be handed down generations and still look new. Get it! I use it on my bontrager rear rack (MIK Compatible) but it's compatible with virtually any bike with the MIK attachment plate you can buy. If you're considering a crate or basket - you won't be disappointed with this one.
Nice Crate!
This crate just arrived and it’s perfect...except for the ‘satin clear coat.’ Not convinced it’s actually sealed as the crate feels rough (and definitely not convinced about it being weatherproof). I may remove the MIK adapter and add a clear coat to make sure. But it’s aesthetically very pleasing and a nice addition to my bike.
Well built wooden crate
I was surprised just how good this crate is. It's sturdy and comes complete with key that you need to remove it. This is cute but not very deep so you won't be able to put very much in it. if you are looking for a something that you can truly pile stuff in I would recommend the basil create but note it does not come complete - this one does.
Wooden Rear Bike Crate by Electra
Excellent organic rack for any cargo bike or bike with rack capabilities. I am using it on a Rad Power cargo bike and is works perfect with the rack adaptor. Easy to recommend this rack. Well made, solid wood pieces. Easy to load, easy to bungee, easy on the visual.
A beautiful crate that doesn't wobble
This is much prettier than I thought it would be. It looks great and is very sturdy. It is bigger than I expected it to be. I am glad I bought it!
