My initial thought was that these shorts were perfect lightweight workout/run/hike shorts. Then after the second wash (followed care instructions) threads started pulling from the elastic waist band; not what you expect from a $70 pair of shorts.
Could have been great short. Great idea, but, as almost always with Kuhl, bad execution of that great idea. The fit of the short is perfect. There are 2 major drawbacks - draw string is too short, at least on the size 38 which I purchased, the ends of the draw string can barely be seen and there is no chance they can be tied together; after first wash the material lost 80% of its appearance and started looking like the shorts were washed 50 times.
I have about 25 pieces of Kuhl clothing and have been happy with each piece until now. The shorts are comfortable and functional, but not durable enough. The first time I wore then my finger nail caught the material and pulled, now I have a unsightly gathering of uneven material in groin area.
These shorts are great. Very durable. My phone fits nicely in the side pocket. Would buy again!
Good fit, perfect length. Draw string works well. I would prefer these shorts to have the snap for closure. No fly on these shorts, wish it did. Still give 5 stars for the excellent fit.
It’s hot and humid in Central Texas. These shorts are light weight and my first choice to stay comfortable in this summer heat. I do recommend these shorts for comfort and style.
I hate bike shorts, so these Kuhl’s with elastic are great. Even wear separate bike padding under them for long rides. Stylish.
Strong but light fabric, quality stitching and a good fit, not too tight, not too loose. I'd prefer if they had belt loops instead of just a string tie, and if they'd add a second back pocket, but the elasticized waistband is well constructed and these are clearly meant to be amphibious, so I understand the decision to leave these out. Also, I'd prefer to have an 11 inch inseam, but 10 inch works. Seems to be the trend this year.
These are a very casual light weight option. I find them very comfortable for laying around the house or hanging out by the pool. These have been my go-to weekend shorts since it has warmed up. Not sure on the durability for more intense activity but great for lounging.
Best shorts i've ever owned. I'm 5'6" and have very large quads. I struggle to find shorts that don't pull or bunch on my legs. I'm planning on using these as my backpacking shorts for this summer. I will be hiking, working out, and just lounging in these.
