Not very durable, poor clasp design
These come installed on a lot of XC Rossignol ski package, but after only two uses on beginner tracks, the plastic portion chipped resulting in nonfunctional binding (might be a defect, but the design is pretty poor). This occurred after only routine use with a Rossignol matched-brand NNN boot. The racing model of these binding may be slightly better with metal on both sides of the clasp, but this step-in design appears really fragile, where one side is only plastic and clearly not reliable. I am giving this two stars because overall the Turnamic design is easy to install and adjust, but it was super disappointing to lose an otherwise fantastic ski day and have to hike out. The gentleman at the REI ski shop was friendly and offered to replace the binding given that the ski was brand new, but given how easily and quickly these failed, these are really not safe to take out into the woods. REI: please track the number of complaints on this model and, if my experience is not an isolated incident, choose a different binding to package with begginner-intermediate skis. Thanks.
Wish They Were Stronger...
A fairly minor fall saw the plastic flange next to the front of the binding cracked off. It appears this is a common weak point on most NNN bindings, but it is still disappointing.
Disappointingly fragile
Having never broken a binding in 25+ years of cross country skiing, I had one of these shatter rather impressively into about 5 pieces after a mild wipeout last week. I had concerns about how fragile these appeared when I bought them, but they were the only option being offered by my REI in 2021 and I was assured that they were stronger than they looked. I would not recommend this as a beginner's binding if you are concerned about falling or if you plan to take them into the backcountry. I'm also not a huge fan of the "turnamic" mechanism, which requires you to bend down and twist the lever by hand to unlock. (I came from the older bindings where you could depress a button with your pole while standing.)
Too fragile by Far...
...I really wanted to like these bindings, but as with the other commenters, I was disappointed to have one break on a routine fall. It appears that the plastic near the toe is not very tough; it easily cracked off.
Bindings wouldn’t clasp boot
The easy clasping system would be great if it actually was sized to fit the bar on the matching Rossignol branded boots.
Difficult release on bindings
Bindings freeze up and won't release. VERY difficult to twist the plastic grip to the side after skiing in cold conditions.
