I love this bag. The only thing I wished it had were hip straps for when you carry on your back.

Access to main compartment is a pain

Great bag except for one big issue. If you want to full access main compartment you have to unbuckle the shoulder strap.

Very Versatile!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this duffel as a birthday present and it has been the best gift! I use it for weekend trips and for hiking. The divider that comes with the bag is a nice touch! I didn't think I'd use it but it might be one of my favorite pieces. It's a great carry-on for flights that fits easily in the overhead compartment. I also use it a lot for hiking. I took out the water pack from my Camelback and put it at the bottom and used the divider to keep everything else off of it and ran the tube through the top zipper. It was a HUGE benefit to not have to carry multiple backpacks for my wife and I. It's also very comfortable to carry as a backpack.

I would buy this product again and again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 32L is a perfect size for carry-one for plane trips, for a quick weekend getaway. I love you can be us it as a duffel bag or a back bag & when it's not in use you can fold it down to put it away.

Awesome for airline travel!! Does not fit 16" MBP.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this bag for airline travel. It is smaller than the S Base Camp Duffel, so it fits perfectly under the seat in front of you on the plane. The laptop compartment is also excellent for quick access to your laptop when going thru security at the airport. Much better suited overall for airline travel than the standard Base Camp Duffel. However, the laptop compartment was clearly sized for a 15" MacBook Pro, and my 16" MacBook Pro (the new standard size) doesn't fit thru the zipper. I can force it if I really try, but it really requires some force and feels like it will cause the seam or zipper to fail eventually. Besides that, I am loving the bag.

Computer sleeve wrongly described

The REI web site says: "External zip-closure padded 15 in. laptop sleeve offers easy access to electronics when going through the security line." Well, the sleeve is indeed 15 inches wide (internally) but the zippered opening is only 14" and you would be hard pressed to get a computer wider than 13" into the sleeve. So it is a "padded 13 in. laptop sleeve." Purchased at Charlotte REI store. The whole bag had been crammed into one of its pocket for "display" purposes. Could not examine bag without extracting it. Worse, the creases caused by the cramming have not come out. Product would earn five stars without these problems.

Buckle is already broken 1 no in

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this bag. It was exactly what I was looking for for my gym bag. It can hold my entire office outfit for the day, plus shoes, toiletries, laptop, etc. and not too heavy when I go to pick it up! The duffel opening makes it so easy to get things in and out. My biggest complaint is the buckles for the straps. A reviewer before me said they looked fragile because they're plastic and sure enough one of mine is already broken even tho I've only had this bag for a month. The plastic on the other one already looks stressed too, like it may break at any moment. I'm disappointed and just waiting for them to give and then my whole purchase will have been a waste because it will not be usable at that point. I don't get why these wouldn't have been made of sturdier plastic or metal! Then it would be the perfect bag.

100/100

This is a flawless bag in my opinion, if you like packing cubes and getting away with the smallest possible bag, then this is the bag for you. The boxy style is great for using every square inch and the moveable divider eliminates the need for cubes. The pouch is perfect for separating dirty shoes or toiletries that may spill, or anything you want to contain. I have packed this thing for an 8 day ski trip which to me seems amazing for such a small bag. The shape is slim like a conventional carry on which is a plus for air travel. I really cant find anything I dont like about it. Would highly recommend!

Solid pack

This pack is great. It’s made solid. I don’t ever use it in backpack orientation as I find it a little bit uncomfortable and makes it easier to use as a gym bag. I personally think the Patagonia Black Hole Series is a better purchase. I will keep this one but will probably get a black hole 40L as I find this just a tad too small and no shoulder strap. Still a great pack that I will use in a different capacity.

Great, except for the laptop sleeve

Great bag, easy to pack, just enough pockets to keep it organized, but not too many so you forget where something is stashed. Going to use it for weekend travels in Europe to various cities by plane or train. Not planning on using it for hiking, as the shoulder straps are minimalist. It still feels comfortable at about 15 pounds. My one complaint is the external laptop sleeve is too small for my 15.6" HP laptop because the 13.5 inch zipper is too short. I knew it was a risk. However, the internal pocket is big enough for it to fit, so I'll be using it that way. There's no padding between the external and internal pockets so the same protection. I might add a little extra padding myself.
