Exchanging for the ENO Vesta
I'm exchanging this for the ENO Vesta (the next "higher up" option, which is only avail online. The footbox only has two snaps and doesn't stay secured. The Vesta has a zippered footbox and a better temperature rating. Worth the price difference? To me, yes. This is fine as a lightweight top quilt, but the zippered footbox that stays closed matters to me. Even velco (on the Spark) would have been a significant improvement.
Returning failed to meet expectations
Footbox system simply fails to stay closed, material seems too ridgid to be comfortable. Temp rating seems rather optimistic.
Well below my expectations
Hammock camping in Shenandoah a couple weeks ago, this top quilt let me freeze through out the night. The temperature only got to about 40 degrees at night, but this provided me with little comfort and warmth. If I was camping in the summer, or was significantly shorter maybe this would work well, but it’s definitely not a 3 season top quilt
Hammock quilt
Great top quilt for 3 season use. Warm and comfortable.
Love the Quilt!!
Amazing - perfect for my intended use!! I needed something light to use/not use through out those summer months in various temperatures from 55-75 degrees. This fits that need perfectly.
I kinda like it, for the price
For a little over a hundred bucks, I'm pretty pleased with this purchase (you'd have to spend a good bit more to get something better). The images show it buttoned up part-way, and that's all you should expect. "Rectangle" mode didn't work at all for me - it's not wide enough to button up all the way over my shoulders (I'm 5'8" 170lbs, so not a big guy). I tried that, but the buttons would pop open, or the seam would stand open from the pressure at my shoulders. Still, I was comfy using this as a top blanket in my tent at around 55° (I tend to be cold at night, so you might be ok in lower temps). I liked the freedom of not being in a mummy bag when it was 65° and I barely needed anything at all. The cinch (at the feet) and the buttons definitely don't seal well, so I'll probably just use it as a blanket and tuck it in all around me when it's colder (definitely need a good sleeping mat under you for that to work). I haven't used it in a hammock, so maybe the buttons would work better there. For the price, this is a useful addition to my options. I enjoy backpacking a couple times a year, but don't want to spend the money on ultra-lightweight kit. I have a 20° mummy bag that I'll carry for colder weather, so this will mostly be a summer option for me. My kids also liked this and were jealous when fitting into their mummy bags.
