These boots were amazing , spent 3- days snowmobiling in Idaho, never once had any moisture, or cold feet during extreme in climate weather. If you enjoy the cold sports, or just traveling during cold weather, trails, casual outings , Merrell boots are the absolute best !!!
Thank you!
We bought these for some winter hiking and snowshoeing. I have a medium width foot with normal arches. When I first put them on the arch support seemed it would be too much but once I walked around they were very comfortable. Sizing felt right on target. Our first hike was 10 km in the mountains on semipacked snow at temps between freezing and minus 5 celsius. My toes tend to get cold. Not at all this time and I had standard thickness socks. The next day was a 15 km mountain snow hike in a raging snow storm, again plenty of warmth, no water penetration but i did not submerge the boot. Great traction as well. I bought the same boot for two family members and they have the same positive impression. Highly recommend these boots.
Mike, That's awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience!
50 years old and I have slipped on many boots but I have never been disabled by them like I have been with these. They put a big hook on the boot for the lace and then put a big nylon loop right below it. I slipped these boots on to go retrieve a cooler left in the driveway. The hook hooked the loop I fell and had been in terrible pain ever since. Hip, elbow and shoulder all screwed up in the blink of an eye due to these dangerous boots. Zero insulation in the footbed so they suck for warmth. My feet froze in the Iowa winter!
Having purchased Merrill Footwear for over 12 years. Every now and then which is becoming more often than not I have a pair that just seemed to fall apart because of lack of quality and Design. The most recent was a one-month-old winter boot that I had and found that the back heal in the whole back separated from the upper area. It's a clean break clean cut right at where the seam is there is no stitching that must have been just glue holding it together. Rather disgusted at this point because every time you reach out to Merrill they seem to have an excuse or reason for not being responsible. I may really have to reconsider buying Merrell products again since this is the second failure in the last 6 months I want a pair of boots that I pre Buy for the upcoming season. Anyway buyer beware. I would have a very hard time recommending Merrell Shoes anymore.
Bought just a month ago, winter test just came today and didn't expect that moisture penetrates inside the toe box. It happen just after an hour of wearing it outside on the snowy day, I bought it because of its good reviews. Its doesn't stand -20 as it was advertised 👎
So im only on day 2 of having these boots eyelets broke

I was VERY happy with my boots up until one of the fabric eyelets tore loose, thus reducing the tight fit I wanted. I'd buy these again, once the fabric eyelets get replaced by metal or an enforced hole. I am purchasing a different but similar style of boot. I would not recommend this particular boot due to the defect but most certainly recommend Merrell products due to the comfort of the boots.
Thank you for your suggested improvements, Don!
I bought a pair of these at the beginning of the winter(4 month ago) and they are very confortable! The problem is with the quality control. The little straps holding the laces are falling off one after the other. I'm not even doing anything extreme, only light walking. This is very disapointing since I like these boots A LOT! For the price I was expecting something way more durable.

I work at the post office in western Washington. I'm outside walking on all sorts of different terrains and really needed something that can keep me dry, warm, and from slipping. It was recommended to me to look into the vibram arctic grip, after a ton of research I went with these. They took some breaking in, but they were comfortable after that, keep me feet pretty warm (when dry), but where they failed is they are not waterproof. My feet were wet and cold on an average pnw day. It also snowed one day and I got to try them out on the ice, didn't do anything, I hear they're is a difference between wet and drier ice but I expected more. Lasted barley a month but Merrell refunded my money with a gift card so I'm back in the hunt for a real pair of waterproof boots. Little discouraged that these boots are getting such good reviews when my feet were all wet, maybe people aren't putting them to a real test?

Guys, if you live in snow country and haven't purchased a pair of these I urge you to try them out. I have 6 pairs of various Merrell boots, and these are by far the most comfortable. I think it is the fleece lining that keeps you so warm and cozy. The Vibram Ice- Tech soles grip onto glare ice and hold firm even when you expect them to slide. I have not had the leaking problem that you see in reviews, but I try not to immerse them in water either. If I do, I'll do what any knowledgeable northerner does and stick the blow dryer into them for 15 minutes and dry them out! Next time I will purchase the "Tall" version of this boot instead of the "mid". Either way I think you're gonna like them.
