Nomad Pro Skins are a fail
Been splitboarding for over 20 years. Used many brands of skins. The Jones Nomad Pro are the worst value for money I have had with any brand of skins. The glue did not stick well in mid 20s and allowed snow to get under. Used for 5th time yesterday in low 30s at Baker. Applied and removed in cold. Left to dry overnight in cold garage folded. Found one in morning unfolded with glue holes and bubbles from sticking to itself. Never had such a poor experience with other brands that were used much longer and in tougher conditions. These skins are a joke and so is Jones support. Jones is completely ignoring my chats and emails. Guess they are too busy posting Instagram pics of "Adventure Season". Do yourself a favor and spend your money on any other brand of skins if you want to enjoy your "Adventure Season" without expensive broken gear and wasted time asking for help from Jones nonexistent customer support.
Overall poor experience
Tail clips broke within a few days. Mine did not come with a skin saver and after sticking them together the glue became ineffective in about ten tours and in the cold they don't stick at all. Yesterday I stopped 6 times to get them warm enough to stick for 15 min then rinse snd repeat(I bought different skins as soon as I got home)They do glide well when they're actually sticking to your board, that's what the one star is for. And with roughly 30 days on them the skin is visually thinning out. Also contacted jones, they offered a replacement, but since I bought them cash at my local board shop and didn't have the receipt I was told to kick rocks. Safe to say I will never buy these again, and I've read a lot of similar complaints on an online splitboard forum.
Bomber
I’m finishing my second season on these skins and they have been awesome. They sometimes get less sticky when cold but if you keep the glue to glue they are plenty sticky. 100% buying again for next season
Peel, slap, go!!!
These are perfect. I was using G3 skins, which were fine, but these are perfect. I mean, they’re made for your specific Jones board length and width. They’re perfect. Plus they’re made by Pomoca, so they’re easy peel. You’re not going to pull a muscle or burst any blood vessels trying to rip em’ apart. Pre-cut. Grippy. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Buy them on sale cuz they’re not cheap.
Glue fails when cold
Used these last season and they left me postholing for miles in hazardous terrain in sub-20F temperatures. Glue failed every day when temps got low no matter how much we'd try to keep them dry and clean. Tail clips were godawful made of cheap plastic that shatters easily; by the end of a 5 day tour one skin was strapped the the ski. Not a safe product.
Work Great
I have used these 20+ times this season so far. No issues at all. They have stuck great from 5 degrees to 35 degrees.
