Love everything about this shoe. Fits perfect, very comfortable. Best lace system by far, entire lace tightens with an easy pull on the laces. Easy to get on / off. Feels warm on the feet, which is great for a NW fall - winter.
Quite happy with these shoes. I was looking for a compromise between hiking shoes and tennis shoes for every day, since I'm getting too old to wear tennis shoes. :-). Purchased them online, as they weren't at the local REI store. Lighter weight than I expected - a plus! I have the NorthFace Ultra 109s for hiking, but they were a little heavy/clunky for everyday use.
I wanted a low top hiking boot that could take me on some nice trails in the summer in the Olympics and Cascades. Since I have a pair of Lowa mid top and they work very well, I decided to stay with the brand but with a lighter boot. I used them about 5 times to give them a chance, but in the end, the sole just didn't cut it. The sole on this boot is not their regular sturdy and hardy sole rather a light sole that for those with sensitive feet, can feel the pressure of rocks and roots. I returned them and in typical REI fashion they took the return and were very gracious.
Best shoes in over 60 years. In over 60 years of buying shoes, and 40 years of camping/hiking shoes, nothing quite compares to these. It’s actually my second pair, holding them back until my previous purchase of these wear out. My Garmont hikers come close, but there are just so many small details that make these particularly awesome.
