A must have for anyone looking for a backpack

Love love love this. My daughter is in 7th grade and needed a bigger sturdier bag that would hold her laptop. Great laptop divider, magnetic straps, drawstring closure also. Shoulder straps are nice and thick and extra cushion on the back side of backpack. Lots of room and awesome material. She has always had North Face backpacks and she loves this one way more.

Lack of cover pocket, why?

While the backpack is good quality and it looks terrific, there is a evident lack of pockets. It is absolutely unfathomable that there is a space between the top cover and its internal fabric that is not used, for instance. Was it really that difficult? I couldn't believe how designers decided to remove this pocket when it arrived home. What's more irritating is knowing it was available in a previous model. I will have it done anyways by a sewer but this is not something I would expect by a HS&Co product. I'm disappointed by the brand, I would expect bright design and this is nothing like it, will never consider buying again.

Heavyweight canvas model

After 6 years with the standard model I bought the heavyweight canvas one for the bottle pockets, better closing mechanism + I was hoping for a better back support and even greater durability. We’ll see for the durability but the back support is non existent…. because there is no mesh padding I thought it would have had padding on the whole back, instead, there is no basically no padding. A step back from the standard model. Additionally the front pocket for some reason has no zipper… again a step in the wrong direction… finally, there is a pc sleeve but it has no padding… meaning it is basically useless. I will have to buy a pc pouch or something… I don’t know what to say.

Average backpack

Finally got the Peacoat Heavy Canvas Little America backpack. “Genuine leather” was already cracked when taking it out the bag. One of the ends of the leather straps for the main pocket is already separating. Bag itself seems solid in quality but definitely will be checking out Bellroy for my next bag. This one was unfortunately on sale for a reason so no returns or exchanges. Safety net company policy for this exact reason. I’d recommend going with the rubber straps if you pick any backpack from this company, since the “genuine leather” and pleather result the same cracking way. Was betting on Herschel proving me wrong but the bigger you get, the less quality matters. Business is business.

A Must Have

I bought the backpack for my husband and he absolutely loves it. He went for a trip and everything needed were in these bags. The backpack has a beautiful mustard colour, the quality is great and very spacious. It’s holds comfortable a 15inch laptop, iPad and switch with its accessories well. There was a lot more room to add more. The size is great for a man but if you are a tiny woman and want it to be cute on you I say choose the smaller mid volume size.My husband loves and collects backpacks this bag is a keeper and I need one for myself. I do not regret the purchase at all.

Great for travel and excursions

I've had this backpack for only a couple of months and it's already been my go-to for road trips, hikes and beach days. It easily holds all my clothes, laptop, toiletries and a change of shoes. The padding on the shoulder straps and the back of the bag are way more comfortable than my other backpacks. There is a large laptop pouch that is great for storing your tech, and it's also padded so you don't have to worry about any damage to your valuables. The top is secured with a drawstring top which ensures none of my stuff falls out. I also love that you can secure the front pouch and top flap with straps. This backpack has quickly become my main backpack. Since it holds so much, I am planning on taking it on a few trips and not checking luggage. Overall great quality to price ratio!

Honest review from a college student

It's a great everyday bag! It's adjustable, spacious and convenient. The only downside though is that the front pocket is small. I would normally put my wallet in the front pockets of my previous bags, but with this one I have to put it inside the bag since it doesn't fit in the outer pocket. I would still definitely recommend. It's a comfortable bag and although it's a bit on the pricier side, the quality of it is remarkable and it's great for students who have a lot to carry.

Good bag but the straps will flake

I enjoyed this bag. It looked great, had the right compartments for what I needed, and worked well for some time. I’m sad that they chose a material for the “leather” straps that flakes and falls off. It’s a poor design choice and makes the bag look terrible when it’s otherwise still in great condition. I had also heard great things about their warranty but, according to my claim, this is normal wear-and-tear and therefore not covered. This tells me they knowingly chose a material that would wear in this way and were ok with it. :/ Overall, if you’re looking for a long term bag, I’d recommend going a different route. If you need a short term solution or are a DIYer you’ll probably enjoy the bag and not mind fixing it up a bit over time. I know for me, I probably won’t be buying any more Herschel products after this experience.

The Color that gets a lot of compliments

So I bought this L.A. backpack to replace my old one, and the quality was so great that it lasted me 8 years. This one came in the mail and it seemed like the quality has improved even more so. Which I didn’t think is possible because the L.A. backpacks are so well made. I love the mustard color, it not loud but it is unique and noticeable to get sincere compliments. The large size is handy and straps are sturdy. Happy and proud of my purchase.

Contemporary bag

Contemporary bag with style. Really looks great. But, it needs more compartments and separation so that items can be stored safely. Very stiff material. Oddly so. The top portion that covers and closes the bag should have had a zipped pocket of some kind, its wasted space. When carrying heavy books, laptop - it's just not that comfortable. Looks great no doubt, but it's disappointing that it doesn't deliver. We use it for light items now only.
