The Power of Light
I purchased two Glow Sticks for use as lighting for several photographs with carved lava rock and obsidian volcanic glass. The shots were taken in total darkness using only the glow sticks for "light painting". Awesome Results!
Love this rechargeable glow stick!!!
I use this for lightpainting and the colors are very pleasant. It's rechargeable. It's waterproof
NO USB C - Almost Perfect
This thing is great at festivals or when camping. 2 major flaws and one minor one hold this thing back from being a perfect 5 star product. I wish they’d update this and I’d probably buy a bunch for all of my camping and festival gear. Cons: It charges using micro-USB. Anything not using USB-C is unacceptable for a product in 2025 IMO. The charge port is beneath the cap that hangs the stick. This makes it very easy to lose if you aren’t careful. It’s not dimmable. Pros: Battery powered so no waste. Just bright enough for folks to see you in the dark and enough light to see your feet and not trip on things. Not “too bright”.
Works ... but the single color was better
These are my backup glow sticks. I wish you would bring back the solid single color glow sticks. I still have a few, which I use as my primary. The single color can be stowed for quick access and drop without having to switch through the colors to find the color you want. Also, another thing I am not sold on is the overall length. Everyone i know that carries these cuts about 1 inch off the bottom. The shorter length doesnt seem to have a large effect on the overall glow, but the stock length makes them easy to snag and hard to stow in a convential admin pouch. Overall I would buy them again, only because the single color glow sticks are no longer available.
Battery permanently dies <2yr
I got this as an extra in my order about 2 years ago. I keep it in my jacket pocket, indoors, for night dog walks. I used it rarely, maybe a couple dozen times in total, so there was rare battery drain from actual use. Now it won’t hold a charge, unused, for a week. I wish I’d received the button battery version (which may not even exist anymore) so I could still use it, because it was a neat tool for being a pedestrian in the dark. Based on this experience I won’t buy any other Nite-Ize rechargeable battery powered devices. I hope they keep making alkaline battery powered devices because I do like their illumination options, but I won’t choose a rechargeable.

So far so good
I like this little light, though I haven't used it much yet. It charges easily and it's easy to cycle through the colors to get the one I want. The colors are vivid. The light is bright enough to make me visible while walking the dog at night. It's not bright enough to use as a flashlight, so don't expect to use it for that. Possibly if it had a white light setting it would be? Not sure. I haven't tested its water-resistant qualities nor how long it holds a charge. The little S-carabiner hooks easily and securely to the dog-treat pouch. A cute and useful little gadget, especially in the season when it gets dark at 4:15.
Bright, visible, colorful- the perfect solution
I use these for nite time kayaking trips for groups I guide. In addition to lights on the front and back of the kayaks, I use these on the backs of our PFD's. I can use different color settings to distinguish between participants, when necessary. They are clearly visible for distances up to several hundred meters. Participants can also easily identify the guides. The rechargeable batteries last for many hours and recharge quickly. In the past I have used both chemical and battery operated glow sticks, but this is a much more environmentally responsible option and will be much cheaper after just a few outings.
Good for small children
Bought these sticks for my nephew and nieces for trick-or-treating, and they were an instant hit. I feel good giving the kids something that's not full of chemicals they could swallow nor will go into the landfill after one use. My only nitpick is like others write–I wish they glowed more colors. They clearly show other colors in disc-o mode when transitioning among the three color diodes. Why can't I simply freeze the transition with a button click? Overall a good product. I would like to see rechargeable glow necklaces for people (not the dog collars) to give the kids next year.
Toddler Proof!
We had the other model for 1 week before my toddler figured out how to unscrew the top and lose the batteries. Tried again with this model and it's great! Have had this for a month now. No worries if it gets left on all night - just recharge! Waterproof, milk proof, mud proof. Even works well as a yogurt stir stick LOL. Kids love using them as "light sabers" and they don't hurt each other since it's a flexible piece of plastic(?). Color change feature is great. We bought them for the kids and they serve the purpose well. As far as light output and visibility at night: I have no clue :)
Let there be a light
A very helpful little light. I’ve used it a couple times now, clipper to a pack for low light hiking and a a tent night light. It’s gone at least 36 hours with out a charge.
