Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Very warm in low temperatures and comfy!
These were so wonderful! Mostly worn on walks and hikes in the winter. We've had temperatures in the 5-20F range through much of the winter, and wearing these over a pair of fleece-lined leggings (in the coldest temps) or just a pair base layer leggings (in the 15-20F range) was enough! They are quite roomy so they can easily go over base layers. And the waist is stretchy and adjustable. A 1X fit me perfect (a 5'4'', 220lb person) in the legs and waist, they were a bit long but hasn't been a problem because the ankles are tapered. Not waterproof, so would need an outer layer for activities where you're getting into the snow.
The Best Work-at-Home Pants Ever
These cozy, strechy pants are a wonderful indulgence for the home office. They keep me warm in my home office, which is cooler than my old office building. Even better they seamlessly support exercise breaks on my bike, walking or skiing. I like the combination of ultra soft fleece inside and a smooth exterior. They taper nicely to the ankle. There are two zipper pockets. The lenth is good or a tich long for me - but I'm only 5'3". They're just so cozy I don't want to take them off! Lucky for me - I don't have to.
Most Comfortable medium weight casual pants I own.
I dig them out no matter where they are in the pile. If in the laundry, I miss them. So I got a second pair. Now, shopping for a third and wanting to get rid of a few others I don't wear since I discovered these. Narrow ankles so they don't drag but the plus size is very roomy for thick legs. I recommend them to anyone. I generally fit the upper end of 2x, these are perfect and a little roomy so if you are toward the lower end of the 2x, it may be worth it to try a 1x.
Terrible sizing
Way oversized. I typically wear an 18/20W pant and could pull these on over my current pants with lots of bagging. no way these would stay up on a walk or hike. REI, I’m disappointed there’s no 1X size in between the XL and 2X size because there’s no way the XL would fit me either.
Giant and average
Bought these to wear on hikes and walks this winter. Put them on today. They are gigantic. I’m 5’8” and a size 24 and ordered the 3X (I wear that in PRana, Columbia); these were easily six inches too big in the thigh and four inches too long. Definitely pants, not tights. And zero wind block. If you’re looking for giant apres ski pants, maybe these are your thing. But don’t mistake them for the svelte fleece lined tights all the straight sized girls are wearing this season.
Really warm and soft
I wasn't sure what to expect when I got these pants. Usually I don't enjoy fleece pants because they get too hot. I wore these hiking several times. They were definitely too hot for intense hiking in the still warm weather of late summer. Once the weather started to turn chilly, however, these were great to have. The inside is unbelievably soft and I've worn these, more often than not, as lounge pants around the house. When I did hike in cold weather, I stayed warm and the pants wicked away sweat pretty well. I would say that the fit is a little odd. I got a size larger than I probably should have, so they fit loosely. Even if I had gotten a smaller size, however, the length was way too long; I had to roll up the pant legs several times and the crotch was very low. I am short, but they were still longer than I expected. That being said, if comfort is what you're after, these may be for you.
Obsessed
I like these pants more than I like several members of my own family. I could write literal sonnets about these pants. I am in love with these pants. I bought them to fill a niche in my outdoor wardrobe, but they have taken over all of my outfits as well as my heart.
Most comfortable, soft, light weight, warm pants.
I received these pants as surprise Christmas gift from my husband and I love them. They are the softest, warmest, most breathable pants. Yesterday we had temps in single numbers and wind gust up to 70 miles an hour. While out for short periods of time with my dogs yesterday, I did not feel the wind or cold on my legs, but my face was freezing. I thought these pants would be too warm when I came back in the house, but pants so comfortable I wore them all day and was comfortable very. I will be buying a 2nd pair. They do run big, I think I could size down to XL, but I do like the loose fit. If I was in store, I might have overlooked these pants. These are the most comforter winter pants I have ever owned.
Warm and comfortable
These are my favorite fleece pants ever. They definitely run big, I wear 2-3x normally and the XL fit great… a little snug in the waist where I am biggest, but not uncomfortable. A 1X would definitely be a good addition to the size range. I ordered a second pair and they are all I want to wear in winter, home and out and about. I’ve bought multiple pairs as gifts.
Warm and comfy
I have been looking for plus-size Polartec Power Stretch pants for years -- thanks, REI! These are warm and comfortable, good length. The smooth exterior will discourage dog hair from sticking (not prevent, I know, but much better than fleece). The fit is like pants, not tights, so I am comfortable wearing them outdoors. For me, the waist and belly is MUCH more generous than necessary, but the pants still stay put and the drawstring adds security.
