Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

So good!
For reference I'm 5'5" 120 lb, pants in the 25-27 waist range usually fit me. I'm 'sensory sensitive' you could say, and these pants are amazing. Perhaps it's because my legs are skinny/low volume, but the seam above the knee doesn't both me at all. It is far outweighed by the extreme softness, warmth, stretch, and overall comfort of these pants. I bought size XS and S to try out but I'm keeping both because I love them so much, and I might buy a third backup pair while on sale just to have around. XS fits a little better for wearing out and about, and the S is looser and great for lounging at home, or wearing layers beneath them. The outer fabric does a good job of picking up minimal lint, fur, etc. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a warm, comfortable, versatile pant for colder weather. I included pictures of the XS fit on my figure.
Irritating seams, lumpy fit
I absolutely love my old pair of REI PowerStretch leggings and wanted another pair like them, and thought these Hyperaxis Fleece Pants would be equivalent. Sadly, they are not. Pros: 1) The Hyperaxis pants are made from PowerStretch, which is a great fabric, very cozy, soft, stretchy, and warm, perfect for bicycling in the cold or as a base layer when camping or skiing. In general, PowerStretch is great for layering because the smooth finish on the fabric's outside glides easily under other fabrics, while the fleece inside is super comfy and warm. I can't praise PowerStretch fabric enough. Cons: 1) The Hyperaxis Fleece Pants are pants, not leggings. However, they look like they were *supposed* to be leggings, but you bought a size too large. They fit somewhat smoothly in some areas, while looking slightly baggy in others, giving the wearer a lumpy appearance. I definitely don't feel attractive in these. And I wouldn't want to layer them under other pants; there's too much extra fabric and they'd be too bulky. 2) The seams are regular seams with serged fabric edges sticking out from the seam, not flatlock seams with no extra fabric sticking out (see photos: The one with the seams sticking out is the Hyperaxis pants; the one with smooth, flat, hardly visible seams is my old pair of PowerStretch leggings for comparison, to demonstrate how the Hyperaxis pants design got the seams wrong). This regular seam style on the Hyperaxis pants is especially irritating on the pointless horizontal seam right above the knee -- the extra fabric rubs across your knee/thigh and can't be ignored. I've never been sensitive to seams, but the Hyperaxis seams are really irritating. 3) The zipper on the pockets is stiff, causing the pockets to bulge out unflatteringly when you bend at the hip, especially when they're unzipped -- which could pose a risk of things falling out of them. I'm really bummed, but I cannot justify spending $100 on such a disappointing product and am returning them.
Almost
I can't give these pants 5 stars nor could I keep them. They fit really well, the inner fleece is soft and I really like the outer smooth material, but not having flat seams is a problem and why I can't give them 5 stars. The seam above the knee doesn't make a ton of sense to me, but I wouldn't notice it if not for the bulging material there. It's odd REI chose not to make flat seams for their higher end fleece pants but they did for the cheaper Teton Fleece pant. I'll definitely buy and keep these if they make the seams flat. This might not bother many people but it was quite noticeable to me. Sad since I have a harder bottom frame to buy for (thin waist, fuller hips and thighs).
Warm but awkward
These pants are very warm and cozy, however not the most comfortable pants I’ve ever worn. There is a seam right at the knees that rubs on my knees when I walk and the pockets just feel awkward and bulky. Best way I can describe the pockets are thick and bulky like a pair of 80’s bulky shoulder pads but on the front of your hips. However I do love the deep pockets as you could fit a large smart phone in them and the zippers on the pockets seem very durable. The longer I wear the pants, the less the seem at the knees seem to bother me but the pockets I just can’t seem to get used to.
$30.00 price increase in 3 weeks?
I bought 4 pairs of these pants and I love them! They are super comfy and nice and warm for a cool fall afternoon. A little thin for winter, but can act as base layer under snow pants. I am super disappointed though - I like them so much that I came back to purchase a few more pair. However, I find that these pants have increased in price significantly in a matter of 3 weeks. I paid $69.89 per pair and now they are listed at $99.95 per pair - what the heck!? I like them, but not at $30.00 more per pair! They are definitely worth the $70, but definitely not worth $100 per pair!
About that sizing…
These pants are toasty and bend with you, and if you get the right size are comfortable to wear. The problem (for me at least) was the sizing. I normally wear a size 12/14 which would place me solidly in a size large, but the size large was bulky all over and just didn’t fit right, so I exchanged them for a medium. The medium fits well with the notable exception of some bunching around the knees which is likely more to do with my height (5’6”) than the pants themselves - I suspect they would fit better if I was a few inches taller. Regardless, I’m happy with pants and look forward to using them for my cold weather adventures.
Great fabric, lackluster design
Powerstretch is a great fabric, but this design doesn't make the most of it. The waist and pockets are lined with a less stretchy mesh, so if your shape inclines at all toward an hourglass, it's a bit of a wriggle to get into them. Once on, they fit well/comfortably enough, though they do run large (I sized down one size) and a bit long, and it is accurate to say that they fall in between a pant and a legging. As the pockets are on-seam with a zipper, they don't incorporate smoothly into the silhouette of the pant if the zippers are open. The zippers also make for an abrasive experience if you want to use the pockets as hand-warmers. (Which would have been cozy had the pockets been made out of power stretch rather than nylon mesh.) I would have preferred an alternate zipper pocket somewhere else on the pant and open pockets at the hips. I haven't had issues with the seam across the thigh, but it's worth noting if you try them on. I'll probably look at other brands for additional pairs of powerstretch pants.
Elevated "fleece" pants
"Fleece" pants reimagined into smooth knit exterior with cozy fleece interior. Neat appearance when worn alone; fit without bulk under my rain pants. The two invisible zipper side seam pockets are a useful size and attached at the waistband to maintain the smooth high waist line. There is no resistance to wide range movement and no sagging. I followed the advice of other reviewers to size down bc my actual measurements are between sizes; the resulting fit is exactly as shown on model. The brief distraction of the horizontal seam above the knee when putting these on disappeared in the overall in-place comfort; the fabric piecing shifts the side seams for a smooth hip line. Fabric provides warmth without retaining moisture. Runs large but not by very much; surprisingly light weight for warmth provided.
Soooo comfortable & perfect from dawn to dusk!
I love these fleece pants! They are as comfy as pajamas. I've been wearing them on walks and hikes as the season is shifting. Keeps me warm during the brisk mornings, but cool as the day heats up (I tend to be cold-blooded and these pants keep me the perfect temperature from pre-dawn to dusk). The deep pockets have zippers that are flush with the pants and don't catch on my wrists or sweaters. The waist band is super comfy and stretchy with a drawstring which is nice, but I never needed to tie it. Great length for those with slightly longer legs and falls below my ankle. Will definitely buy another pair!
Warm hug buy maybe size down
Suggest sizing down. I didn't expect a legging but the fit is baggy. I'm usually between M and L in sizing. Got the M and am considering returning to try a small. The length is nice for good coverage though. They are very high rise and though they have pockets I'm pretty sure putting anything in them would pull these pants down. I am using the drawstring and still feeling this way about them. All that said they feel like a warm hug.
